I wish you would have went over the R-rechargeable vs alkaline vs Dual fuel models. No one seems to mention the various models in this regard… I went to an outdoor store and bought the spot 400 dual fuel thinking it had the rechargeable battery but when I got home was disappointed to find it did not and I had to buy the battery pack for and extra $30… The print on their boxes is so small …. 😢

Distance 1500 doesn’t seem to throw all that far. I just ordered one of those because i go nighttime snowshoeing.
@0utcast the light distance doesn't translate as well on video, but you'll notice the difference when you use it in person! And that extended battery life will be perfect for your nighttime snowshoeing! Let us know how it performs in the field for you!

so it just arrived and looks fantastic upon unboxing. it feels solidly built and is not overly big. it felt comfortable. as for the instructions they are kind of confusing just like all black diamond instructions are. not really any english descriptions like you would read in an instruction manual instead more pictorial in nature. that made figuring out how to navigate between 15lm, 300lm, and 800lm difficult. but im impressed with its performance as so far.
@@AlsSportingGoodsInccan you do a review video on this specific headlamp and go over the modes like which is which etc since the instructions suck and customer support isnt really doing a good job of explaining stuff.

What is the runtime of all these. No one not even the website talk about runtime
You're right, just looked at the Black Diamond website and the only thing I found was the Distance 1500's max burn time on low listed at 40 hours. If we can't get the info from black diamond we'll just test them ourselves. Thank you for watching!

USB-C or I don’t buy.
Awesome feedback @WeileWorld we'll let Black Diamond know. They have micro USB as their recharging option currently but as USB-C gains popularity they might add that as a buying option in the future!

how do you open these stupid things, i got a 400 and i cant open it to put batteries in. The instructions show the thumb and arrow drawing motion. But it wont open and it makes no sense. And NO CZcams video shows how to open it. WTF 🤬
We’re sorry to hear that! With the light facing you look on the left side, there you should find a pull tab that releases the front from the back of the headlamp. My brother there is a latch.
1. Spread the lamp away from the housing bracket, you'll hear the hinges clicking.
2. Slide your finger across the back end of the torch, from one side to the other.
3. Your finger will hit something that looks like a hook when viewed from above.
4. Lift that thing up and it'll unclip
