- Making it as an actor can be challenging when you're starting from the bottom. It’s a highly competitive industry where meritocracy is not in practice.
There are classic rags to riches stories of actors we all like to hear. The ones who started waiting tables, and after years of struggling to make ends meet, boom ... stardom! But what would it be like to not have to struggle financially? Who are the actors who had a financial safety net to fall back on while they tried their hand at Hollywood?
There are actually more than a few stories, and here are 10 actors who were born filthy rich.

Lupita Nyong'o... She was grew up in a top class political family here in Kenya. She was born in Mexico, studied in the rich top-tier schools around then went to the states, ultimately graduating from Yale. Her father was once an influential Government Cabinet Secretary for Health and her cousin Isis Nyong'o(worked for Google) was named one of the most influential Women in Africa.
So basically she is a Kenyan mafia princess.
@@jimmason8502 kind of... Her father is now the current Governor of Kisumu county(Which holds the third largest city in Kenya)
that Ansel kid nails the filthy rich look.
+NARKISDUDE even his name is posh
yes lol
+NARKISDUDE Its hard to believe that he was a ballerina! lol I think he was pretty accomplished at it as well.
they can afford to be actors, if they fail, they will still have a better life than more than half of the country's population. If I told my mum I want to be an actress, GOD HELP ME
I knew there had to be a reason why Lena Dunham existed in Hollywood.
when theres thousands of better but poor actors out there...trash like her take their place and continue to make more money lmfao... the world is unfair
I don't even know who she is, but from what I gathered from some of the comments about her, that seems to be a great thing! Lol
I've been working background in movies (not many good ones) for the past 14 years or so. During that time I've met lots of extras on set that could have been great actors but will never be given the chance because of wealth and family connections.
+TYSON VOCALSBASS I didn't know nepotism exists in the movie industry...LOL who am I kidding. But seriously though I always thought fame was of main importance...if you a girl and you're willing to 'leak' a sex tape....or if you're a dude and you land a Kim Kardashian and you are also willing to 'leak' a sex tape....TADAH instant fame and a reality TV.
+TYSON VOCALSBASS You mean because of lack of wealth and family connections? Yup, it's true. My sister was one of them. She was born to be an actress I think and started acting in school. It's all she ever wanted to do. So she moved to LA to study acting and went to many auditions but did not get any roles except being extras. So in the end she moved to the country where she is half from and did acting over there. It may not be hollywood but at least she could do what she loved without having to do boring jobs whilst continuing to go for auditions to no avail.
LBMultimediaDesign
That's a cool story - which country?
TYSON VOCALSBASS
Malaysia. We are half Malaysian and half British.
LBMultimediaDesign Some of my friends do background work in Malaysia, I might go there too in the future. KL is nice.
How can Kirsten Stewart look so sad when she lived in an Alice and wonderland themed mansion
That's the reason why she looks sad.
Took the words right out of my mouth. "THAT'S the reason"
1.75 million that's not even close to what a home in Vancouver costs..
Because it made her go mad ha ha!
If I even lived in a mansion I'll be happier than SpongeBob SquarePants
Now show us some who were born filthy poor.
I only know one - Arnold Scharzneger (idk how you spell it) the terminator guy
Sylvester Stallone
Jim carey
leo dicaprio?
Hillary swank
These people may be perfectly nice people, but I can't help resent people who were born into rich families. Maybe it is jealousy. Not because they can buy nice things, I'm jealous because of the freedom a young person from a wealthy family has to pursue a career that they love without worrying about if they would have enough money to live on. I'm jealous of their opportunities.
Then establish generational wealth for your family
Stev Rex It wont be easy. Your children are going to be the spoiled ones to enjoy a leisure life not you.
I understand what you mean. You really dare to try life when you settled. A lot of people working hard to get success. Look at Notch Persson. He lived in his moms basement. The unemployment agency told him he never was going anywhere in life. Billionaire today. Bought a nice house and a car to his mom. He started from scratch.
Not completely true - I used to go to a private school so I was friends with a lot of kids that were filthy rich and 'old money' type, and a lot of them were really frustrated because of the pressure they received from their parents to pursue 'real' careers like a doctor, or lawyer or something of that sort. Their parents wouldn't allow them to apply to universities that weren't IV leagues or highly ranked. It was quite sad to see how much pressure they used to be under. Don't let the idea of disposable wealth lure you. The rich stay rich for a reason and that is because the kids have to pick up where the parents left off, and with every new generation, the bar is raised higher.
Whether you agree or disagree, this is the honest perception of how they feel. I too believe that there is a lot more freedom for those that have a more affluent back round. Your reply came across as condescending and I don't agree.. the bar isn't always higher. At times, you just need to keep up, IF that's at all possible!!
Money or no..... Edward Norton and Paul Giamatti are truly some of the finest actors to ever be
+Robert Bosley as apposed the other ones
+knightofdreamz agreed on Dreyfus
@@Pernection Dreyfus and Mara are excellent actresses too
why couldn't I be born rich instead of good looking?
lol
+One Individual Good look bring you money.
+One Individual Well, you can't have both......oh wait, you can, but then you would have been really stupid.
but I am kinda stupid.
maybe that's why you're good looking? :)
No wonder Lena managed to be famous. She's hideous, that always boggled my mind.
What? She's charming and very funny!
kinda like sara jessica horseface, i mean parker. apparently one of her parents was a hollywood insider.
she's a spoiled brat.
She has a sweet face.
She is not hideous, just unattractive. Not all actors should be beautiful because not all people are beautiful. Get real.
And the rich get richer.
+Miranda M aint that the sad truth
+Miranda M stop consuming depreciable goods and start investing your money. There is no wealth gap, only a behavioral gap.
112233jjooee WHAT MONEY???
Miranda M ignore the idiot..... clearly never grew up poor knowing that u barely make enough money to eat 2 meals a day and still live under a roof. cause one would know in that situation u cant invest money when there is no money to invest when u dont even have enough money to live. there is a reason why a word poverty exists.
Leto Williams people dont even realize the crap they spend money on. trust me, you could be investing, if not in stocks, at lest in yourself.
Rooney and Kate Mara, wow, I feel so stupid, I never made that connection lol!
FeelinErie me neither
Rooney and Kate surprised me the most.
+La Dolce Vita I concur.
+La Dolce Vita the difference in thier boobs surprised me even more
paul giamati's entire body of work has an underlying highlighted personality of a man coming from a working class or middle class family. He's such a humble man. I always thought it was his utter perseverance in the industry that prevailed.
i never thought that lady from Seinfeld was family rich. she is a good actor, has good genes. she perdy.
It would explain why she's a Hillary supporter.
+Nickolah Lyn Nooo don't you get it, Hillary has a vagina! and Julia has one too! If you have a vagina you should vote for Hillary, because vagina.
That explains Kristen Stewart and Lena Dunham
Yeah cant even act and still gets top roles.
+jaws I take it you did not see "Clouds of Sils Maria"...
+lease2coach1 I've seen, and to be honest is overrated when comes to Kirsten's acting skills. I'd be supprised if she gets proper comedy role rather than same type of drama.
Still like to watch Kristen though
Rashida Jones father is QUINCY JONES?! Holy shit! What a legacy!
It's the same in the UK - nearly all name actors of the last decade have came from privileged families. The days of the broke actor working their way up the hard way are disappearing. Now mummy and daddy pull a string and the role is secured.
And did you know Johnny Depp, who went from zero to the lead role in a major TV show, is a cousin of queen elizabeth? Spooky...
+Tokiofritz Emily Blunt..
+Tokiofritz Obviously Depp had a hand held up for him from day one then, courtesy of the royals
+007Fusiion Wait, what about her?
+Tokiofritz Very true.
+Tokiofritz a lot of famous actors come from poor backgrounds/had a tough life before stardom
Add Courtney Cox, Taylor Swift, and Gwyneth Paltrow
I think Jennifer Anniston as well.
Probably, the list is long but they can't put them all in one video!
Rooney and Kate Mara don't even look like they're from the same family, they look nothing alike wow
Thats is quite untrue.. especially with that cheeckbones..
Being born into wealth seems like it would have been fun. Ah well, at least I got enough common sense to not bring a child into this world and share my modern day poordom. LOL
+gutz1981 Your commen sense is seriously flawed and i mean no offense so hear me out. You have traits that need to be genetically passed on to the future. It's like all the smart people only have like 1 child these days. They do it out of selfish reasons but in 50 years if we all keep popping out enough loved, unmanipulated children we can compete with all the deadbeats popping out a baby a year only to repeat their harsh cycle upon the earth. Break the cycle! Common sense dude...
+josh molnar amen
it's not "selfish" Josh, more and more women nowadays are not interested in living the "mommy life" which often becomes the housewife life(i'm going to present the woman point of view because in the end we kind of decide to give birth to it or not and we're the ones going through pain so yeah that's also an important factor in having a baby).
It's not a very glamorous lifestyle and in the world we live in women need to make their own money and it becomes really hard when you can't work full days or when you have to stop 3 to 4 years to raise your child ! And then you have men yelling that we're not paid as much because we had to stop but then we're also expected to have children and men don't really want to stop to raise their kids !!!!! If things were better for us and if some men were willing to be stay at home fathers (especially if the wife makes more money) then maybe it would be a different discussion but my mother is a surgeon, my dad a dentist she makes waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more money than him but back then in the 80's she kind of HAD to stay at home to raise me and therefor she decided to never have a child again because she didn't go through 11 years of med school to make apple pies and change diapers ! So here you have a very smart couple and a pretty wealthy one who only decide to have one kid (me) because yes that's what most highly educated people do ! When you have a career and a happy childless life it's hard to decide to have children if you don't feel like there's something missing in your life. I don't want to generalize but it's the truth : Rich/highly educated people tend to have less children and it's often poor families with a lower level of education who tend to have bigger families. I kind of agree when you say that it sucks because smart people have less children but i can also tell you that it's easier to raise a smart child if you only have one to raise ! Even if you're not super rich or super smart it's easier to have your kid be in a private school and play piano if you only have to pay for him. So obviously those kids become smarter not because of who they are but because of the chance they had to have all their parents attention ! I mean it's a very long debate and right now as a 28 yo woman my goal is to adopt and give a chance to a poor kid to have a great life but i can also understand why, as years go by, women (and couples in general) tend to avoid being parents. (sorry if there's any typos or mistakes english being my 3rd language)
Though there are a lot of wealthy people who are very sad and lonely. Money doesn't buy happiness.
+diva1675 No it doesn't buy happiness. But being poor sure as hell makes it harder to get closer to it.
This explains Lena Dunham..
+Latifah Eden She's a abused her sister, hope she never makes anything again.
+Chocolate Dinosaur Unfortunately she will. I hadn't even heard about that until today which is probably the most disgusting thing. It's because she's a woman, and she did it to another woman. It wasn't in the news, it was 'OK'. Disgusting. She calls herself a feminist, but how is there any equality in the fact that she did not get a huge uproar for doing this because she's a female.
Julie Bowen should have been listed. Her family's last name (Leutkemeyer) is plastered all over the place. Their investment portfolio includes malls, dozens of fast food restaurants (very small portion of their wealth...just drawing a blank on the other stuff), and large commercial R/E developments in and around Baltimore. They're not "Dreyfus" rich, but they are worth several hundred million. Her grandfather and Beale Rollins (who attended the same high school as Julie) donated $30 million to their high school...in 1961. The creator of this list didn't dig far enough.
Paul Giammati and Rashida JOnes came a very long way unlike the other actors.
+Jackson May I'm sure here comes a look... we all know what makes people stands out from others
I was surprised by Edward Norton, but I knew JLD was a multi bilionaire. It's incredible how massive talented she is despite of all her money.
+MrLasveguinhas How is talent related to having money?
The Internet Killed Music Oportunities can make a lot for you, I mean, what if Ed Norton was poor and never had the chance to act in a big movie to show off his incredible talent? Plus a lot of those actors went to expensive art schools that actually can teach a lot to you when you're an actor.
+MrLasveguinhas Yeah but it isn't black and white. Plenty of rich people still don't get the right opportunities, plenty of poor people still get good opportunities. Money often helps but it isn't everything.
The Internet Killed Music Exactly, it's not black and white at all... you can't denny that a lot of times it's related, but yeah, it's not everything.
There's nothing wrong with being rich and taking advantage of the situation you're born into. Much love to all the rich kids making the most of their opportunities!
But considering her politics, learning that Lena Dunham was born a child of privilege makes my blood boil.
***** I'm not rich. Why is that a pathetic thing to say?
+TheSnorkeler I agree with you. I was born in a lower class family, but i would totally take advantage of my family's wealth if my family were rich. Cuz why would i not? there's nothing wrong with being born rich. Everyone wants to be rich so they and their family can have a better life, so why not take advantage of that?
Rex Tree Agreed! Rich people also don't get the opportunity to deal with the adversity you may have been through. In certain situations, you are probably better equipped to handle yourself than a more economically privileged person.
+TheSnorkeler
Considering her politics? That statement would have only made sense if she was Milton Friedman.
MrRabastan Being a child of privilege and complaining about being underprivileged because she's unattractive? Taking great benefit from wealth and nepotism while supporting politicians that want to redistribute wealth? What a hypocritical rag.
Nothing worse than a rich Liberal.
Friedman was a great man. He wanted everyone to pursue their own interests. Now Dunham and people like her are looking to pursue other people's interests every chance they get. She and the rest of the Liberal sheep need to mind their own business.
Edward Norton was a surprise to me
+Idakoos Me too
+Idakoos yeah same, like i remember watching watchmojo long ago and I remember they talked about actors who weren't born rich and had to work hard to where they came from, Edward norton came up and mentioned that he actually had to clean tables to get his role 'Primal Fear.' Though I don't watch watchmojo cause their list is useless. So I'm shocked as well.. I don't know what to believe.
+Kimmu Laskhmi he's still making movies
Same because he's so humble I wouldn't have guessed it
+Kimmu Laskhmi dafuq? He make atleast 1 movie a year lol
I don't think all of them are mediocre or horrible actors who only became famous because of their family connections and money. Norton, Giamatti, JLD and even Rooney Mara are highly skilled, in my opinion.
At least these people on the list actually have talent, and have put in work.
true
Really Kristen Stewart? She has one expression for every emotion.
+Andy BravotwozeroUS She has already proven that she's a good actress, just forget about twilight
+Andy BravotwozeroUS Plus a HUGE pair of ears!
+Michaël Koeks it's easy to forget Twilight, really easy, but really all her other films have sucked too.
Not only are they all rich but CONNECTED! Yet, they'll all say, "I got where I am because i am talented".
Meh, pay attention and you will see that most of them lost out on many auditions. Connections doesn't mean you get all the parts you want. (of course there could be a few exceptions here and there). They are also very talented actors.
Just because you have rich relatives doesn't automatically make you rich
+Jennifer Vu There are inheritance laws...
+Jennifer Vu Yeah, it usually does.
So now I have another reason to hate Lena Dunham. Thanks.
what's the info on her being a child molester?
+sugreev2001 Yea, fuck her for existing.
That's a natural part of child development and far from being a child molester
+MissMakea Well I can tell you my brother and I never jerked off in the same room or inspected each other's junk. It's not normal.
+Cameron Corrigan I bet you did didn't you? you bad boy!
Rooney Mara really looks like Loki's sister !
No wonder Kristen Stewart landed the high profile role of Bella and other lead roles when she sucks at acting! It all makes sense now!
She was forced to strip in part 4 , so there is Karma right there :)
Neither of them can act, Kristen and Patterson. I hope they saved their money.
jmrios777 Robert Pattinson is an excellent and very talented actor, so I don't know what the hell you're talking about.
Kristen Stewart's first major motion picture was PANIC ROOM with Jodie Foster.
She was 12 years old at the time. She has since starred in over 20 films!
its good to know the right ppl and you get in because of who your parents are and not because they posses any real talent..same thing with the highly unlikable jayden smith
seeing kristen stewart's mom; oh i get it why kristen is the way she is
i see that now i know why some of those people suck at acting because they probably got a golden ticket for having rich well known people.
So Elaine some day will be a BILLIONAIRE... She gonna be doing that dance ....
Did not know Talia Shire was a Coppola or that Swartzman was her kid. neat.
+Brie Stoll I knew Talia Shire was a Coppola but I didn't know Swartzman was her kid. If you dig around you'll be surprised at who all is related in Hollywood.
Now we know why kriten Stew is in showbiz with that expressionless face
To be fair, she won the French equivalent of an Oscar. So she can’t be that bad.
@@katiep2177 for what film? The one that she buy dress for people?
xrizbira
For a film called “Clouds of Sils Maria”.
of all of them i respect julia the most: she really works hard as an actress and is actually so humble and down to earth. Even her dad said she's her fav because she made her own money and not relied on his.
This makes me look at my family some type of way : _-
YoungBlaze Of Chitown i fell bro
Forgot Angelina jolie and Nicholas cage
Ughhh, some of these people are such terrible actors. Now it makes sense why they landed huge roles, they clearly have no talent, just great connections.
oooooh.....kristen stewart...well that explains a lot. the woman has like two face expressions
She just has a very brooding face. I'll admit it makes her look a little intimidating. She also likes to do stuff that would normally get people in trouble for indecent exposure, or at least that is a rumor.
N2 B-1986 Kristen Stuwart's acting skills are not THAT good. An actor is born the moment he succeeds two genres; comedy and drama. Stuart is no way near the likes of Gyllenhals and Robbies.
all I can say is this = LUCKY MOTHERFUCKERS !!!!!!
Great idea for a list.
Wow, an original video! Didn't think I'd see that ever again, weil done!
I though Lena Dunham grew up oppressed by the patriarchy, beaten by and abused by numerous men but somehow over came being called bossy.
Gwyneth Paltrow, Ariana Grande, Nicholas Cage...
crayons, shoes, picture frames.
Two of them are talented though
@@Elijah1916_myhighway Which 2?
@@boys_and_the_booze5104 Ariana Grande and Nick Cage
@@Elijah1916_myhighway Nick Cage?!? LOL
I had no idea 2:40 were sisters 😨😨😨
SAME! I was like holy shit how did I not make that connection..
The only one that doesn't enrage me is Julia, because she has true talent.
Paul Giamatti is an awesome actor! One of my favorites.
55
I don't know.. why it doesn't impress me. All of them are preety boring.
+13onra - LOL! Right!
+Fasha Moore yup
+IantheXX013 I don't agree fully, Edward Norton is very good.
+Stephanie Koßmann and Paul Giamatti
The new rich kids have a reality show where they don't even have a job, party all the time and apparently buy 100k USD cars with their Dad's credit card. I guess they didn't have much to pick from and some of these are not even well known.
Ah, explains a lot about Kristen Stewart. I was wondering how a talent-less, not much to look at, personality devoid white bread made it to the industry, now I understand that it was money that paved the way.
very interesting, actually, thank you!
Most actors and actresses started with doctors, scenarists, producers, actors parents in the first place. A very few famous stars started from scratch and worked their asses off to make it to the top. So much easier to be successful when daddy's behind.
Ughhh Rashida is sooooo pretttttyyyyyyyyyyy
***** hahahaha Lucky bitch.
+Sammie Sapphire HEY! look whos talkin ;) lmfao
putrifiedpuppy disemboweledkitty well thank you. I am nowhere near as rich tho... where did i go wrong??
Sammie Sapphire what do you consider rich? wealth, happiness, love? option a, doesn't bring option b and c :)
putrifiedpuppy disemboweledkitty VERY good point! There is a difference! I'll take LOVE & HAPPINESS! :)
Edward Norton (American History) ist so ein genialer Schauspieler, es spielt gar keine Rolle, wie viel Geld der hat! Edward ist einfach toll!
louis-dryfus was not a suprise. She has such a happy outlook and is such a positive aura about her
She would be wealthy based on Seinfeld alone, she doesn't even need the family fortune
I never knew those two are sisters damn
+DivaRemy I never knew Kate has a sister
LOL
That's what shocked me most, I would have never guessed they were related
Kate is in AHS season 1
Nepotism at its best
+Andrew Haym THE OFFICE
+Andrew Haym Not really since most parents are not at all involved in the Hollywood business.
Wow, didn't know about Julia, she seems so normal, and a lot of people who come from THAT KIND of money are just different, because it's a different world, in every way. Different lifestyle, different schools, private planes, world travel, etc. It put a sheen on you, a gloss, that sets you apart, and she just seems like an ordinary girl. I wonder what her family thinks of her career. Really interesting.
+OGSpaceCadet Well she is a good actor?
theblazer Part of it, but even in interviews, etc, she seems down to earth.
+ OGSpaceCadetIt's all an act mwahahahaha. Why do you think she would break out laughing so much during the shows' taping? Julia was responsible for half the bloopers on Seinfeld even though she was only 1/4 of the main cast.
Didn't know that Rooney and Kate were sisters, I'm mindblown
GREAT VIDEO...........
I'd love to try being a trust fund baby.
+Tina Huston blame your parents that's what I'm going to do 😏
+Tina Huston right ? i think i could be something huge with a bank account with infinite funds at my disposal.
+branden neves Live it, Branden. Live it.
Me too.
Hopefully in our next life.....if that's such a thing
"I don't know a thing about being a millionaire. But I bet I'd be just darling at it."--Dorothy Parker
"Ernest, the rich are different than you and me."--F. Scott Fitzgerald to his friend Ernest Hemingway
"Yes. They have more money."--Hemingway's reply.
+Daniel Bradford Poor English,it should be : "The rich are differs TO you and I"....
+foxx441 "The rich are differs"? What?! I've never encountered such a sentence structure in all my years of studying English.
+MrKodanNche Sorry, my typo there. That obvious was meant to be "The rich are different...." But I'm sure you figured it out for yourself ;)
i just subscribed cos of this
Good job. I had absolutely no idea about the majority of these
+Kristen225 are you kidding, I never even heard of half of them. LOL
Inquisitor6321
ok
+Kristen225 Something oddly; ugly/hot/sexy,about Rooney Mara. great actor,too.....
+Inquisitor6321 What rock are u living under??
brainsareus
I don't live under a rock. I have wondered from the cave that most people dwell in. (Plato reference here)
I don't waste my time in knowing celebrities.
Life is too short to waste my time getting to know people who know nothing about about me and that I will be very unlikely to ever meet.
What suprised me the most was that i didnt know rooney and kate were sisters... i know rooney more and i dont really know kate's last name and like they dont look that much alike... rooney looks more like emily blunt
forgot Gwyneth Paltrow and Drew Barrymore. both who are great actors btw. well in my opinion anyway.
the way she said "Faneuil Hall" killed me
They also forgot Matthew McConnaghey, who's family is wealthy Oil tycoons
Maybe I should get into art...👀
+Markea Littles your parents must be filthy rich then, huh?
Bullshit. In my country my father has a tremendously high network of connections that most of which are big directors and even upcoming parliament members. I still did not land any major role. Sometimes even talent plays a big role. NB: I have never studied acting.
Markersable no please keep your diginitg
Lena Dunham seems like a rich kid.
Now this is interesting 🙋🏾
Who are half of these people?
Some of them are on American horror story, girls, Seinfeld just to name a few....
Kate is too
😂😂😂😂 I wondered the same thing
Rashida was on the office
Bragging about your ignorance never gets old
what about that certain actor that had small loan of million dollars? he pretend that he's smart while being dumb af, certainly a good actor
christopher Lloyd (Doc Emmett Brown from the back to the future trilogy).. his granddad wasone of the founders of Texaco.
Michael Weatherly (Tony Dinozzo from NCIS).. his dad made a fortune as the importer into the US of the Swiss army knife.
Sean Murray (McGee, also from NCIS), got the job by virtue of being producer Bellisario's step-son
I only knew that Mara girl from American Horror Story, the entire reason I clicked on this video. LOL
whats sad is that this list could go on muuuuuch longer
Lena Dunham is completely unsurprising. I know people love her and Girls, but I never did, because it felt like series of things that would never happen to normal people. No wonder if the author knows nothing about normal life.
Vincent Price's grandpa invented baking powder.
+Mike Addison then who invented itching powder?
90% are Jewish.
Julia Dreyfuss is from Towson, Maryland . Big unbelievable big
I liked watching Paul in the Home Alone movies. He was hilarious in those. I think everyone should just enjoy THEIR life whether you were raised "rich" or "poor". If you aspire a "better" life than what you currently have, get a move on it and do what you have to do to make it happen.
Kate & Rooney don't look like sisters.
It looks like Kate got herself a nose job.
Lol!
+April Hare You're just jelly because you want one yourself.
+123dancewithme wow! you are so clever!
Kate Mara - Rooney Mara - Armie Hamer - Ed Norton - Gaga - Ansel Eggort walked into his career with Carrie as well as Lena Dunham - but to be honest it's the casting directors who allow it to happen.
This makes me feel better weirdly enough as someone who was always frustrated about not getting anywhere in acting. I like how this video illustrated these actors had a leg-up because of who they know. There's too much emphasis on how actors worked hard to get to where they are and don't get me wrong, I'm sure they did. But making it in Hollywood is like 10% work, and 90% luck and who you know.
was getting some Coppola vibes from Jason Schwartzman, but didn't know he was actually part of the clan.
Julia Louis Dreyfus was a shocker
Whats the background music?
Liesel Matthews. The first daughter in Air Force One movie and played Sara Crew in A Little Princess. Her family owns Hyatt Hotel and she's worth $2.7B
Of course Lena Dunham. That's how she landed and remains on that ridiculous show. And Kristen Stewart just ACTS entitled and incredibly pretentious. Ugh.
Do you really think they care enough that you're someone's kid, to have you keep a show running for years? Like it or not Girls is popular. You're on youtube commenting about it. Her family's wealth definitely helped her get a foot in the door (in the form of a short film called Tiny Furniture) but landing an HBO show and maintaining success is a whole different ball game.
My God. Lena Dunham. Please stop with everything not related to your vocation.
I would add Léa Seydoux to this list.
please someone tell me the song they used at the start :O
it sounds soo good
Lol the Mara's went to my school and my favorite teacher taught both of them and he said they were nice kids.
Oh Ann, you beautiful tropical fish.
The last one surprised me.
You could say she really experienced a billionaire's life.
yeah! totally
I know they focused on American actors, but for me, the prime example of money that became famous for acting is Rose Leslie (Ygritte in GoT/ Gwen in Downton Abbey), who's Scottish nobility and grew up in a castle built in the 17th-century (at least for a while). Posh, old money, she is.
I had no idea the Mara actresses were even related
