So question, if i recall my Slim ps5 came with 8.20 and i have a older PS5 sitting on 6.71 i believe it is, 6 something for sure. The slim model disk drive cant be used till u connect to the internet but say a JB is released for 8.20, what would be way to get the disk drive to work since cant update it as u have to update firmware on console first before disk drive? Reason i ask is im still under return window for my slim and im thinking of taking the slim back to refund then just rebuy another console so im sitting on 8.20 on the slim model so just curious will there be a way to even use the disk drive in some form.
If flow's new JB works on PS5, you wouldn't need a disk drive or any userland exploit just a single kernel exploit which can be triggered in a similar fashion via network so don't worry about disk drive, I would suggest holding that 8.20 for another 6-8 months.

No, it's a proof of concept. The actual exploit is yet to be revealed and even when it does get revealed, it's gonna take some time for a jailbreak using the method to actually come out.
