- This is not your average review. Extreme testing of the Lowe Alpine Aeon backpack. I’ve been using it for over 5 months and wanted to share how awesome I think it is, by testing it to the max.

My best advice - just start recording! Remember that you don't have to publish it if you don't like the footage, but just get out with the camera in your hand. If you make nothing with the footage you'll have learnt something from it, it's never a waste of time, it's all part of the process. Start - the time is now :-)

Thanks for the hilarious and informative review. I had tried the bag on in the shop last week but you can never fully tell how tough something will be... Well not until you've tested it! My bag just arrived today and I'm super excited to take it on my next hike

I finally don't feel so bad about things that happen to me now when making vids. You've given me a little boost of confidence. This was so funny when you couldn't find your pack, but I also felt a sinking feeling you get when having lost on of your favorite things. This was a great review on the pack. I'm a big fan of these Aeon packs also. So much so, I own both the 27 and 35 litre variants! Only damage I've done is where I've caught the mesh pockets on brambles (both the large front pocket and one on the hipbelt).

Thank you so much for pointing out the clamshell opening. I've been looking for a clamshell bag with the stash pocket. This combination has been nearly impossible to find, so I'm surprised the company doesn't show this in their videos. Very helpful!

I've had this exact pack for 3 years and it is still in **great** condition, so I'm not at all surprised to see it managed to stand up to these (hilarious) tests! I've carried it for hundreds of miles of hiking in all sorts of conditions and I have even joked that putting it on now after all this time kinda feels like a hug :-P
Loved this, any gear manufactures out there need to send you stuff. RIGHT NOW!

Loved the video, very funny and genuine :) Little tip for you, the audible sound glitchy/static pops between clips can be removed by adding an audio fade between the two clips. Not sure what editor you use but I can do this in Premiere Pro. Keep up the awesome work!

I can't find the Lowe Alpine hydration bladder for sale. I think Lowe Alpine doesn't produce their own hydration bladders or?
in this case what brands of hydration bladder would be compatible with this model?

Fantastic review Sarah. Nice one . I actually bought one of these over a year ago for smaller treks and cycling but when I seen your review I thought I’d try it in the munros as my other bag had seen it’s day . Couldn’t believe how much I could get into it if I tried . I got my full winter kit in it no problem . Never took a thought that I’d get all that in there ..pity it doesn’t come with a rain cover but I’ll get one for it . Nice one Sarah . Cheers

I'm from Canada, and I'm comparing the Lowe Alpine Aeon 27L versus discounted Jack Wolfskin backpacks (men's version) in similar volume capacity (20L to 28L). I was looking for a friend's "first backpack" when i happened across your review. I thought i was going to buy her an Osprey Sirrus 24 for her birthday, or the Lowe Alpine AirZone Z Duo ND25 (A name that totally grabbed my imagination... totally, but it was recommended by the nice lady at the reputable backpacking shop) when i saw the Aeon on Lowe Alpine's site (and incidentally, it's quite an effort to find a working link to the other. Or any adequate reviews or details... It's almost as if they don't want anyone to buy it)... So the Aeon seemed similar and like an intrepid Sherlock Holmes armed with a pc instead of magnifying glass, i found myself here.
I was entertained. But not only that, i'm now considering the competing virtues of this and the Sirrus 24... so i think that's the sign of a good review =)
