I applaud Romney for actually having the balls to say that you can't promise the world to everyone in government handouts and programs...but it's going to take a lot more for me to believe he really truly understands and believes this. Ron Paul has shown me over decades that this is his true core.

You know the media have shown this as a Mitt moment where he put Newt in his place, but the final zinger from Paul finished it off nicely.

Nothing for Newt, but I like the idea of colonizing the moon, not just for space expoloration purposes but also for mining, assuming that we could find something worth mining up there.

He's not arguing against the space program, he's saying Newt only brought it up in Florida because that's where NASA is based. Making crazy promises about colonizing the moon is stupid. Why would we ever colonize the moon? It's a terrible place to go. I could perceive a research colony at most, but never residential.

The Moon has a resource called Helium-3, which we are running out of, and has potential make a great power source, Fusion. Anyone that doesnt want to use the resources on the moon and on mars, Mars having an overabudance of pretty much everything we need is not a wise investor or does not care about future generations. We should focus on getting our country back to speed but with other nations help we could help all of mankind in future. Yes it will take a long time for Mars, but, baby steps.

The fact that Romney thinks the space program is useful only to Florida shows that he doesn't know what the space program is really about.
It's not about the "Space Coast" 00:32
It's about the future of human civilization. Space is the answer to all of our problems on earth. The ultimate challenge, and the ultimate reward for our species's intelligence.
Am I the only one who still believes that??

I would fear for my children and grandchildren if a corporation claimed another planet in the name of profit but if you mean working on technology to get there, that would be a great idea, alot of the tech and modules onboard the I.S.S. is made working with private corporations. We must ensure that no one nation can claim a planet and also ensure that all nations remain unique to themselves, one world gov would give to much power and restrict ideas, same with one nation owning another planet.

Newt's right, there should be a moon colony and Romney's right about spending which is why govt buildings should adopt solar tech to lower their energy bills, all police officers should wear body cameras to lower the court costs as to keep them accountable and not have a Ferguson, MO riot, and all roads should be thickened to 3 feet from a foot just like the German autobahn to make them last longer and lower long-term maintenance costs. Therefore there can be money left over for a moon colony. BTW, if Romney had said what I said then he could have been elected.

***** Trump does want to focus on domestic policy but I do hope and maybe Ted Cruz can convince him so as he is the Chairman of the Senate of NASA to do so.

Lol. Sorry. But i think space is not as urgent right now as the problems we're facing on earth are. And i don't believe that space is the answer to all of our problems on earth. the majority of answers for the problems on earth are found here; on earth. besides space exploration can still be undertaken by many other science and exploration organizations.

You are one of those people who make excuses for not trying new things because probl;ems here on Earth need to be worked out first.
Newsflash! We are not solving unemployment, poverty, and massive debt. Its a lost cause. Its not going to worked out in this lifetime or the next. So why not travel to the moon, make it a 51st state of America or even bvetter yet the Moon Republic? We have noyhing to lose and everything to gain.
