- Lee Scratch Perry: "The music industry is full of devils.
But Kate Bush is the only angel left.
Music must have a pure heart. It must have madness.
It must have genius. That is why I love Kate Bush.”

to John Lewis in Uncut magazine.

I am stuck on this song at the moment. It is allowing me to be a romantic fool and I am pining to have someone to sing it for.
God I completely agree
And how did that work out? Not intending that in a sarcastic manner - just curious....
@@mmb8566 Still a romantic fool and still pining...
You can sing it for me any time :)
Go mad. Sing it at strangers and passers by......why not lol
I love this, and always have since my"b" side on the 45... Which I'm playing that record right now, over 30 years later, and thinking of my hubby Darryll, that just recently passed away...
Whoever put this remix together did a beautiful and respectful job of it. I've always played the original two or three times in a row because it didn't feel long enough so I'm glad to have come across this extension, thank you. I'm sure KB would be very approving of it.
I have it in my will that Under the Ivy be my funeral song. I'm sure I would die peacefully if I was listening to this when the moment comes. I adore every note of KB's staggering body of work (even the ones I don't like) but Under the Ivy moves me and resonates within me in a way no other piece of music ever has. I'm sure other devotees of her music have their own special choice. Thanks again for sharing this. ☮🌏☮
So beautiful. In tears...
I have been thinking for the last few years that I must get around to doing this too. Wuthering Heights is not appropriate and they are my two favourites.
Its far too short....the original that is.....I love the sad ghostliness in her voice
I listen to this and I am a child again.....I love this song so much......I SEE EVERYTHING she sings about....
I want this at my funeral, sounds morbid I know. However, me and the other half have discussed this. I’ll have a white rose on my head stone. So if he’s ever missing me he can listen to this song and “...go to the rose, go right to the white rose. I’ll be waiting for you!” Fair to say I made him cry lol
This song makes me weep everytime I hear it. It brings my not forgotten angel close to me every time love you rach 💓
One of my absolute favourites of hers. Just so simple and pure. 💕🎶
Thank you for making the extended version of one of the most magnificent, marvelous, beautiful songs from Kate. I have always have tears in my eyes when I listen to it. ♥️ Greetings from Poland to each one of Kate's fan.♥️
Cheers from France, mate. Fan for 40 years and counting…
Greetings from Flanders
Amazing tender treatment of one of my favourite songs. From 2.14 pure genius.
The most INFP song ever. This song brings me to tears every time. Retreating to the inner sacred, and hoping someone will follow you through the leaves, and perhaps see what blooms there.
Love your comment 🤍
Thank you SO much for making this extended version. I always wished this song was longer...like 3 hours long! :-)
i love this you deserve a medal
Thank You!
Such a wonderful, sad, beautiful song. I will always love Kate Bush. Thanks for the post. I was afraid that the "extended" version would not have the power of the original, but it's very powerful.
Thanks - I'm always wary of the "if it ain't broke" syndrome.
Kate will be on BBC 6 Music at 1pm on Sunday 20th Nov
... a rare treat for all!
You did Kate proud on this. Listen to the extended remix of Running Up That Hill; it's satisfying because it gives you more of what you love. I'm in California (and need something to compensate for the election results) -- will look for the BBC presentation. Thank you, my friend.
Politics today makes me want to comfort eat ... chronically!
Kate is among the rarest of individuals who can make you fall in love simply with her speaking, let alone singing, voice.
She truly resonates with hearts. It's as though she were "The Jig of Life" incarnate: the wise, imposing, weathered, strong, mature woman interwoven with the fragile, naive, playful, rosy-cheeked young lass.
Reminds me of that Woody Allen quote: “Love is too weak a word for what
I feel - I luuurve you, you know, I loave you, I luff you, two F's, yes.”
@@Ring0fSaturn I have it- the extended record- I saved all of these years...now I share w/my 20 yr.old daughter- I have always loved this song so much tho!
Kate Bush is everything
Not only is this the best quality (sound wise) version of this song on YT, this extended, slightly remixed version is absolute perfection.
A song you never want to end, nice work
I loose it every time I hear this song.
Love this song, love you Kate, we grew up together. Love your music even years later . Merry Christmas
Perfect. One of my favorite Kate songs. It was definitely too short!
Such a beautiful song and very poignant 🎶🌹
It took me 35 years to realize that it's not "the green of the grave."
An all time fave. Beautiful.
Beautifully done - thanks for your work.
This song breaks my heart every time.
Masterpiece
Moving and beautiful
What a song...!!! Unfortunately, so very few people even know it.
Like meeting some "forbidden" affair in a wonderful dream world...
So gently remixed with a great deal of respect for the song...Could be 10 minutes long 😊
Thank u so much...♥️
Nice job extending this amazing song
Beautifully done 🥰
So well done!! Bravo! Props,sir!
And a tip to ya'. This is a fave.
Never thought it could get any better.
But, surprise! Haha 😉🤭❤️
Yes, as others posted I feared this could butcher a classic but a very nice job one.
sublime (et plein d'indications ;) ) Merci
Que musica mas hermosa, me entristece como bajaron los niveles de la apreciacion de la juventud actual ahora algo asi no lo veras el la mass media :(
Perhaps my all time favorite Kate. 💜

@ Nick B thank you, another hero of mine, never heard that quote very fitting tribute.
a magical self deserved escape.Love this Gem.Thanx.
i cried at this. i got the running up the hill single for my 8th birthday in 1985 and i loved Kate bush and I still do! I loved this song and it is my favorite kate bush song just in front of delius (song of summer) and when i saw this i listened to it properly because i hadn't heard this song for about 20 years and i just got so many memories and I just had to cry. Thank you so much. Do you think you could do an extended version of delius (song of summer) please only if it's not to hard. What's your favourite album by Kate bush? Mine is hands down never forever . Thanks x
Thanks very much!
Ninth wave, hands down. Though this is one of my favourite songs. I need my songs to tell a story, and Kate is the ultimate storyteller.
I always thought of the book/movie The Secret Garden when I hear this. I wonder if this was her inspiration?
Ella siempre fue muy talentosa!!! ❤️🌹
You took me under the ivy; right back to my childhood
🥰🥰 jadore cette chanson
Hauntingly melancholic but beautiful...
the general perception of this song is that it's sad and I don't perceive it to be a sad song but a vulnerable one. we tend to mistake both emotions. It's - to me - being scared but willing to share your safe space with that whom you love. The verses, the delivery are the inner dialogue happening through that decision. I feel seen, heard and understood by Ms Bush's writing.
KAT BUSY has a strong being and sing from her heart and soul
I wish a karaoke version of this song was available.... what does e everyone think?
No Way!! That would be Sacrilege! !
Beside Kate we have Agnetha and Olivia as angels also........pure voices and an angel look
Under kate
Unger mate
Anyone find this through" I hate Suzie"???
