- One of the most fascinating characters created by Jack Kirby, Darkseid made his formal comics debut in 1971 and didn't appear in animation until 1984 in Super Friends: The Legendary Super Powers Show as well as The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians in 1985. Also Frank Welker had to talk to himself an awful lot in both shows as he voiced both Darkseid and Kalibak.
I wonder what Jack Kirby thought about this Hanna-Barbera take on the God of Evil because it seems like he's going through a mid-life Crisis.

Moral of the story: if you want your villains to be the ultimate final boss that threatens even the multiverse itself, start by writing them as simps for any of your OC heroes.

In his past there was a person he TRULY loved, her name was Suli, his first wife and mother of Kalibak. Darkseid even wanted to change for her and became better person, but his bitch mother used Deesad to poison her, then Darkseid did exactly the same thing on her and became more cold and evil than before. Really tragic backstory that is heavily reminding me of works of Wiliam Shakespeare and Greek tragedies.
