    I have several of the five inch Corning Ware. They were a wedding gift 49 years ago. They came with plastic lids which I still have.

    I did not know that vision ware can explode, thank you for letting me know. I had the newer pyrex explode in my cupboard. Holy cow what a mess. Because of the explosion, I started getting only vintage pyrex, fire king etc. Thank you again, great video. Fabulous information.

      Thank you Michelle, for the wonderful and interesting and gorgeous videos! It's so fun to see certain pcs. that remind me up my growing up dishes and also, of what I have now. Hand-men downs from passed relatives and aren't they the best too? So glad I found you! It makes me want to go out and hunt through Goodwill tomorrow!!

    Hi Michelle. You are killing me here!! LOL! You know me and the cornflower blue pyrex/corning ware. Two years ago I hunted at the Goodwill for the Vision Ware in Amber and was rather successful. I have the large and small waffle skillet pans, like the one you showed and the sauce pan with the spout. I found two other sauce pans and found the dutch oven at the flea market. All with the lids. I had some of my own pieces back in the 80's and gave them to my daughter. She in turn gave them away. I did keep my Amber loaf pan and pie plate though. I love these pieces! They clean up so well. Great video!!

      Thanks Janet...I was one of those people who never used vision ware so it will be easy to sell lol...I thought of you the other day when I saw a spice of life casserole with lid...it was $5.99 so I passed xo Michelle :)

    The small Cranberry custard cup, loaf pan, and the pie plates are NOT Visions. They are merely Pyrex in Cranberry and Fireside (brown). People often confuse Pyrex for Visions but the material is entirely different. All Visions is stovetop safe - Pyrex is not.

      Hi Kathy, I new nothing about vision ware and how much it broke...I am glad to hear from people who can relate to it! xo Michelle...oh and sorry to hear that!!

    I don't know about exploding but I can certainly attest that the cranberry Vision Ware I bought around 1990-1992 did finally crack after 24 years...lol...how dare it not last forever! I must suspect they both must had seams. Thanks for the info, Michelle.

    • @thrifting101...identifybuy3
      @thrifting101...identifybuy3  Před 7 lety

      Hi Linda...24 years is a good long time lol...I don't know much about vision ware as to breaking and what not...but I saw that message about it and thought I would pass it along...Some people responded to that post saying that it had happened to them...some said it never happened to them...Glad yours lasted so long!!! :) Michelle xo

    • @JohnTFolden
      @JohnTFolden Před 6 lety

      Unlike Pyrex, Visions both vintage and new are made from the exact same material - transparent Pyroceram. It will not break typically unless it's damaged in some way. Pyrex on the other hand will readily break and people confuse the brown and Cranberry Pyrex thinking it's Visions - then when it breaks it's Visions that gets a bad reputation.

    Hi Michelle, How do you know it is Vision Ware? Are they marked?

    • @JohnTFolden
      @JohnTFolden Před 6 lety +1

      JRS JRS while the lids ONLY are often made of Pyrex, Visions itself will never be labeled as Pyrex on the cookware itself - it will say Vision or Corning.

  • @livingthegoodlifechannel

    I feel so old. : ) When an item that you remember coming out starts to become collectible, you know that you are past the half century mark. Ha!

      Hi D...we are not getting older we are getting better! Saw that you found some amazing pyrex so I cant wait to watch your vid....Gooseberry!!! You lucky girl xo Michelle :)

    • @livingthegoodlifechannel
      @livingthegoodlifechannel Před 7 lety

      I just wish that the gooseberry was pink. But I cannot be greedy! Just happy that I found any at all. I was so shocked at the thrift clearance center. I was taking my time on that row of glass/china. People were passing me by and they never picked up the Pyrex. I wish that you could have been there. 4 for $1 plates, cups, vases excluding serving pieces---which is why I paid $2 for the Pyrex. You would have loved it.
