    Belial (whose theme it is) is someone who is 50% schemer and snarker, and 50% aggressive pornomancer. He strongly does what he wants for the lulz while advancing his plans at the same time. He is an extremely powerful and chaotic wildcard and knows it.
    They lyrics are cheesy and perverted, but if you pay attention to the lyrical content and how he changes tone while singing, he's bouncing between being a cheesey pervert for his amusement and to distract you from him trying to mess with you both for further amusement and to open up your guard, if not convert you into another pawn or plaything for his schemes.

    Definitely on point with the sarcastic tone. And I believe the song was just written this way. If it comes across as gibberish, it's probably one of those thing where non-native english speakers decide to write a song exclusively in English. Probably sounds hella cool to them, but a bit on the cheesier side for us. (Cheesy in the fun way).
    The song is the theme for the character Belial, who is a hedonist and usually uses innuendo against his enemies to psyche them out. And to his allies. And anyone really. Like.. All the time. He's a walking innuendo machine.

    This music is very context heavy
    Belial, the guy on the left in the video, is very... *in your face* character
    He will go cryptic and horny every possible chance
    Im quoting one of his dialogue when the main character going to fight him, in English and Japanese:
    _"Oh, you want to do down and dirty with me?"_ This is English
    _"You want to go with me? Okay, lets try some sodomy"_ This is Japanese
    Cygames actually have really censor his dialogue because CERO aint happy with it. The producer (who also wrote this music) said his dialogue is like 90% tamer than first submission

    Aw hell, it's Belial's theme
    other people already covered how very "we are dancing on the line with the horny" Belial is, and the fact that Narita is the one that made this song instead of Uematsu, so i'll talk about some other stuff:
    the video has Triple Zero written near the top because the event that this song originally came from was called 000 (or, well, the full name of it is "What Makes The Sky Blue, Part 3, 000"), and the name of this song is a pun on the phrase "Paradise Lost", which happens to be the name of the second part of the What Makes The Sky Blue event trilogy. Oh, and actually it IS a boss theme, as well as his fight theme in Granblue VS (the fighting game based on the original rpg).

  • @AinzV1
    @AinzV1 Před rokem +10

    This one plays both in GBVS and GBF and serves as belial's theme (the guy on the left), in the base game this song plays until he reach 50% hp and then it turns into the real belial theme (morning light hymnus) , said song fits more into nobuo style, going for an orchestal with opera. Hopefully someone will request it in the future.
    EDIT: wanted to add, Parade's lust is more like a mock song that pretty much describes the character (even the name is a parody of "paradise lost" that served as a theme for the second part of the event trilogy and also for lucio, the white haired guy in the middle and Sandalphon, the guy on the left) so you're not so wrong when you said it was kinda corny or gibberish, the character likes to fk around with both allies and enemies.
    On the other hand his other theme is more into the serious side

  • @NekuGrandChase
    @NekuGrandChase Před rokem +18

    Ah Parade's Lust. Where do I start? Took me months to get this earworm living rent free out of my head.
    It's a song made especially for Belial, the avatar of lust and cunning. The lyrics all allude to his nature; to break free from the bonds of propriety, fall into depravity and lose yourself to the pleasures of men and of flesh. To follow your desires, seek and grasp what you want, disregard others because the only one who matters in the end is YOU.
    In a way, it's also a message to the player from him. The player is bound by his nature of always helping those in need, and fighting the standard formula of good versus evil. There's a bit of curiosity in seeing you fall and be corrupted; to be dyed by his colors (spoiler alert: there's 2 skins/costumes where he does)
    fun trivia: 'bow chika wow wow' alludes to seggs

  • @pedreiva
    @pedreiva Před rokem +7

    Every GBF song you've checked out so far has been Narita (Though Armageddon is a rearrangement of the first movement of an Uematsu song titled "Higher Yet Do the Astrals Dwell"). Uematsu and Narita were on board back when the game started, but Uematsu retired from VGMs and handed the reigns entirely to Narita VERY early on. Song lyrics are typically written by the game's producer and they're all directly connected to the character/context the song is for. Japanese lyrics don't traditionally rhyme as often and instead are intended to tell a story and fit a melody. This makes certain themes make less sense than others without proper context.
    Belial is a sex man. He might as well have created a vocal language that revolves entirely around sex and innuendos. This is his song. Every lyric makes perfect sense when considering how egregiously sexual Belial is, ESPECIALLY the Bow Chicka Wow Wow part. The song is also connected to songs released with the "What Makes the Sky Blue" plotline. They all share some sort of motif with the last one also having the same vocalist as Wings of Terror and The Ultimate due to the scope of the battle.
    A boss fight, Avatar Belial, released in the Granblue Versus story mode last year with a new song called "Morning Light Hymnus" which takes a mature approach and instead depicts Belial's relationship with Lucilius while keeping motifs from the WMTSB songs. There are intense amounts of layers to the Archangel Saga songs, so it might be a good idea to go through the group in a proper order to understand what each song is going for.
    That order would be Paradise Lost (Avatar theme) -> Parade's Lust (Belial Theme) -> Zero (Lucillius Theme) -> Existence (Beelzebub Theme) -> Morning Light Hymnus (Avatar Belial theme GBVS)

  • @hemera5518
    @hemera5518 Před rokem +1

    As stated by some here, Belial is what you'd call a "horny on main" character. Some part of the lyric is "probably" (not so sure, hence the quotation mark) about another character named Sandalphon (The boy you saw on the thumbnail of your video reacting to "GBF - The Ultimate".
    TL;DR Sandalphon was a villain in the first part of the event trilogy called "What Makes The Sky Blue." He later got a redemption arc in the second part called "What Makes The Sky Blue: Paradise Lost" and he has grown enough to take on the mantle of his former mentor, the supreme angel Lucifer. This song, which appears in the last part of the trilogy "What Makes The Sky Blue: 000 (Triple Zero)", is a... "love letter," if you will (IDK what to call it either myself), to Sandalphon. At least some part of the lyrics are.
    "Bare your virtue, fake it if you like
    I won't hurt you, try to keep me in line, angel
    Expose that soul, reveal it all
    That's called growth, now we're talking, gentle, no?""
    That part, I think, is the part where he's just throwing some snide segsual remark on Sandalphon and trying to provoke him as he (Belial) is somewhat responsible in the killing of his former mentor Lucifer

One that's fully worth checking out is Small Fish in a Pond and really just any of the boss tracks in general as well, several six dragon tracks sound very Uematsu like, Narita decides to go all in on his style, the one with the biggest influence being the Lindwurm theme.

    You not understanding it doesn't make it gibberish. It's pretty damn clear just from the image, lyrics, and the song title. It's basically a fallen angel (3) who thinks everything is corrupt and that love isn't real.(1) And he is trying to lead the person he is talking to into giving into their lust instead (2). Etc.
    (1) "Love? In this life? Passion? Yeah, right
    Ideals are cheap, takes a poor soul to fall for 'em"
    "'Cause the world, this house, the bed you sleep
    All of it's corrupt"
    "We're all rotten underneath, down to the bone
    Inside of you, inside of me"
    (2) "Welcome to my body-on-body parade
    Go ahead, let your mind go
    Feel the fire between your thighs escalate
    It's our hot white night, we can just melt away"
    (3) "Evil? Who, me? You think so? Let's see
    People wanna judge-shortsighted at best
    But what do they know about me?"

      one of the few people mostly talking sense here and it took 8 months for me to show up and give a thumbs up and acknowledgment while everyone else just ignored that. i think the interpretation that belial genuinely does not think love is real is off-base given that the second song played during his raid battle is Morning Light Hymnus which is literally a love song from him to Lucilius/Faa, IMO it's more that he thinks real love is rarer than anyone wants to admit and most people are just dressing up shallow attachments to sound meaningful without being able to back that up with actual devotion, but regardless, thank you for being an intelligent person in an extremely disappointing comments section lol

    It's of note that the English lyrics you're reading are literally what they're saying so you're not seeing mistranslated lyrics (or at least not mistranslated by the uploader). Other people have already commented about the context but as someone who listened to this song with zero context, this immediately gave me the feeling of "English so cool!" where non-native English speakers use English basically just because it sounds cool to them. It tends to happen a lot particularly in Japanese media for whatever reason, possibly also prevalent in other Asian media but I'm not that tuned into those so can't say with certainty. It will often sound like gibberish because, well, it basically is. If you're used to the accents, you can often hear random English words being spouted in K-Pop and J-Pop.

    • @MalkuthSephira
      @MalkuthSephira Před rokem +1

      literally nothing in this song is gibberish lmao, it's belial's manifesto about the lies people use to make their desires seem high-and-mighty and their shallow idealism seem heroic, delivered with a lot of mocking sex jokes and innuendo, because just like every time belial has something important to say, he does it in a rush of sarcastic horniness because he already knows people are so stuck in their delusions that no matter how he tries to communicate with them, they won't listen
      it's of note that you're exactly the kind of person belial looks down on, and he's right to do so
