I have had numerous surgeries and my scapular was not removed at my request. I only remove it while showering. I strongly believe that it strengthens me to be disposed to receiving the graces needed for my work here on earth. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I’ve been wearing my brown scapular for over a year now. Only take it off when I shower but I do forget sometimes not to put it on after I get dressed. I always get mad at myself when I leave home without it on me.

You can simply wear it during your shower. Since it’s a cloth, you can dab it while you’re drying off.

After my Dad's passing in1991, my mom had been cleaning out some drawers and had a pile of papers in the middle of the table. I was sitting at the table, and all of a sudden, the little book on the scapular, "Garment of Grace", came sliding down and rested in front of me. I hadn't even noticed it on top of the pile. I read the book, picked up scapulars for my children and I and we were invested. I have been wearing it ever since. I'm praying for my children to come back to the devotion. 🙏
The year was 1964. There were 43 of us with brand new Roman Catholic swag: Rosaries and our Scapulars!! I just found my Scapular and will be wearing it.❤

Fr. Chris, thank you for all your wonderful talks. I just attended Mass on July 16 , the feast day, at Fatima Church from the Carmelites in Costa Rica, and we were told of a miracle cure: a two-year old baby, we had been praying for all this year, had a brain tumor removed and survived the surgery, against the doctors’ expectations. He was there at Mass today with his young parents. His mom told us the story of how the doctors had told them that the baby would not survive the surgery, but he did and is recovering well from a benign tumor. Today the baby was invested with the brown scapular by the priest. The baby looked well and was wearing the Carmelites’ habit too. Praise be to God! Thank you, Mary of Mount Carmel, for your protection and intercession! ❤❤❤

I hate to say that I was ignorant about the brown scapular. I ordered one while Fr. Chris was teaching about it. I've started to pray the Rosary each day. I do miss doing it some nights. I've fallen asleep accidently. I'm giving myself more chances. I'm trying to live my life as Jesus wants me to.

If it's your first time to wear a scapular the priest (any priest ) should wear it to you. That's the enrollment. I didn't know about enrollment in the past so my wearing of scapular in the past I think is not valid. After enrollment if you need to replace your scapular you can get one have it blessed and wear it on your own.

Such a beautiful way to gain grace and declare our “belonging” to Mary. EWTN offers the “home run” version. My brown scapular came with a Saint Benedict medal attached. I was fortunate to be enrolled by my then parish priest, who was also a third order Carmelite so he explained everything very thoroughly to me on my enrolment day. I really appreciate the reverence and teaching about all the sacramentals, including our rosary beads, holy water, religious jewelry, the brown scapular and of course the Divine Mercy image. I am far more aware of the placement and use of blessed items in my home, in my car and on my person. God bless you, Fr Chris. I am so sorry there is a bedbug problem. As a retired school nurse, the sight of Blood onever bothered me but headlice the same league as bedbugs always sent me running for the hills.

To honor the Blessed Virgin Mary, the brown scapular of Carmel and the rosary at Fatima are beautiful manifestations of our love and obedience to her as our spiritual mother. We must listen to our mother and cooperate to carry out her requests, that of praying daily the rosary especially with our family, and be invested in wearing the brown scapular. I have come to see the Brown Scapula as a gentle and loving reminder of the following devotion: to pray a daily Rosary to ask our most loving Mother, to whom God willed to entrust the entire order of mercy (Priests, Deacons and Consecrated Religious), to interceed for them. To pray for their protection, sanctification, and for all the graces, they need to carry out their extraordinary responsibilities of service to God at His Altar. Thus, the third oder Carmalites, like the brown scapula they wear and the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary they pray, become useful instruments in the Most Holy and Immaculate hands of our Lady, in the protection of the entire order of mercy. In this way, the layety, like a protective coat of armor, also join in the support of the M.M.P. 😔🙏🕯🕊
Satan does not want you to wear it. I was given a brown scapular and enrolled very soon after reverting to the Faith after many long years living in darkness - I knew nothing about spiritual warfare. I accepted it because it was recommended by someone special to me. THat night after having it on I went to bed to be awakened by what I will call a dream but did not seem like a dream - a giant ferocious black dog biting me down my back and I was wrestling him or trying to get away and was thrown out of my bed. I was told it was an evil that was hating me for placing the scapular on my person and for my conversion. When I recall it - it is not like a dream you recall but like an event you recall. I think satan hates us wearing it and that regardless of any promises is a good enough reason to wear it in my opinion.

But... When I had an emergency birth, the doctors and nurses left my scapular on and all the extra medals I had attached. They're not usually allowed to leave anything on you. Thanks be to God and Our Holy Mother's intercession, both my son and I were well in spite of the rarity of what happened. ❤
I seem to remember hearing that Our Lady said that through the rosary and the brown scapular she will save the world. I think the promises associated with both, obtained from her Son, would facilitate this

We were given Brown Scapulars when we were confirmed in the Faith in 4th grade. Several years ago I decided to start wearing the scapular again. I got a bag of scapulars, sorry I font remember where. I had them blessed and I wear one every day. Remember you can't throw away a scapular when it wears out. It must be burned.
Good choice
Once vested in the Brown Scapular, all Brown Scapular thereafter carry forward the blessing and investure of the first. One vested does not have to get subsequent Brown Scapulars blessed.
My mom had her surgery that she never made it out of. They let her keep her brown scapular and medals clutched in her hand. I was given those before we left the hospital that day.

I wear mine daily and gave my adult children one each, tho I believe , they keep it in their bedrooms and not on their body … all I can do is ask you mama to please guide them to begin wearing the scapula.

We have a beautiful and very important church here in Panama of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel (Nuestra Señora del Carmen) --we almost lost it during the pandemic). Today, 16 July we are celebrating from very early to venerate Our Lady on her day. After each Mass the priests bless the scapulars and replace the old ones for those who want to change them from the wear and tear. The lines are long but the experience is beautiful.🙏 The priest during mass was saying that he never takes his off --not even when he showers🤭

I know some people doesn’t know about the scapular but with this video I can share with them will be a great help to open their minds. During the day of our preparation for the coming feast of Our Lady, I asked one of my sisters in our community, that during my journey to the Mount of Carmel, how will I know if I am already in the foot of the mountain? My late Dad faithfully wore the Brown Scapular. The Sabbatine Privilege might not be promoted any more, but Dad hoped he would die on a Friday, and he did. He had a very simple faith, and was devoted to Our Lady. He always said St. Mary is his favorite Saint, and he didn't have to say _which_ St. Mary. He had many images of her throughout the house, and even figured out how to download holy images of her on his electronic devices, despite being in his 70s. I doubt that he prayed the Little Office of Our Lady, and I don't know if he fasted on Wednesdays or Saturdays. He was simply devoted to her and her Divine Son Jesus.
Hello Fr Chris, thank you for your continued teachings to us. Fr, would you please give us a talk about Our Lady of Rosa Mystica apparitions (1947-1966) in Chintiari and F, Italy; feast day on July 13th and this year is the first feast celebration since the Vatican gave their official approval of this apparition. I think, like Our Lady of Akita and Our Lady of Mt Carmel, it highly suggests its strong connection with Our Lady of Fatima. This is very interesting to me because our Lady presented it particularly for the religious priests and nuns, monks. I would truly appreciate it. God bless you, Father Chris and your ministries🙏

Fr. Chris, thanks for this fresh reminder about the requirements of wearing the scapular. I wear mine every day but am not sure if it is blessed, and I haven't been doing the other requirements. I'm pretty sure I was enrolled in it right after I made my First Communion but aren't positive. So now I know what I need to do to go along with wearing it in good faith. Hello Fr. Chris! In the Philippines, the Carmelite sisters also give away brown scapulars made of plastic and I think it has the brown cloth inside. Most kids wear it and given away usually during Flores de Mayo and during the Feast Day of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.

great talk Fr Chris - thank you :) Tuesday marks my 3rd anniversary of my consecration (33 Days to Morning Glory) and wearing the Brown Scapular ... however it's such a penance for me to wear it :( I feel bad but it's itchy so i wear it with the pictures facing me, it falls towards my back so ends up choaking me, my miraculous medal is always shredding the cord ugh. you mentioned the guy in the shower - NO WAY could i shower with it yuck gross! lol the struggle is real - please pray for me haha But i do offer all that up for Mother Mary's intentions - i don't waste it :) God bless!!!
