    Very nice. I want to buy an Eastonmade Axis but can’t afford one so I think I’ll retrofit my old horizontal to work like a vertical alittle like yours. Thanks for the video! From New York State

    Perhaps you can speed up your cycle times by reducing the stopping point of the cylinder on its return to the open position. Leave just enough of an opening to comfortably fit your round beneath the wedge and you’re saving a little cycle time on each up and down movement. Just a thought.
    Nice video.

      Thanks.
      We can adjust the stopping point but we have multiple sizes of wood to split. The splitter is fast enough even if we use the whole cylinder stroke. If i have a lot of short length wood we can adjust it like you suggest.

    Am I the only one wondering if this would still perform well on oak, hickory, or better yet, Hedge (Osage orange)?

    • @leonvanzon
      @leonvanzon  Před 2 lety

      This machine performs also well on oak. Because of the vertical design you decide how far you slide the wood under the knife.
      if you have a harder type of wood, slide the block just below and split it in a number of times
      the pressure per square cm/inch is then much higher.
