It was a combination of the 30 or so years of improv. It was Colin and Ryan together first, in the UK Whose Line, and then Wayne Brady in the US Whose Line.
@@poopsanchez6449 That's right! I remember seeing a documentary a while back where Colin and Ryan told their life stories and how they ended up together. I forgot to give props to Proops... Greg Proops. Best group of 4 the show ever had IMO.
@@dennesey It's amazing when you see outsiders on the show, and you can tell who's got improv training and who doesn't. Robin Williams absolutely killed it on his one appearance, Catherine O'Hara wasn't half bad doing some early time as well. Kathy Griffin not so much. One episode of the UK series had a comedic actor named David Walliams on, and even if he wasn't dead tired from a telethon you could tell he only did scripted work.
This is the fullest cast you can get; the usuals plus Aisha and the audience!

They've been at this for a very long time. Colin has over 20 years of experience in this. Plus most of these guys are either professional comedians or just really good at making people laugh like wayne and Colin.
When you do something for as long as they have you tend to develop a quick wit.

Colin is criminally under-rated. His word play is legendary, can keep a straight face, and can play into any role better than someone like Will Ferrell.

Colin is only slightly underrated. Those who know his comedy rate him fairly. It's just a shame he's not more widely recognized. He's truly a world treasure. He deserves to have a grander stage than that which improvisational comedy provides him. I, personally, love him dearly; and he has all the respect I can offer a single human being.

I can’t believe Wayne Brady is real. He’s the embodiment of charisma. All these guys are so clever and quick-witted in their own ways. Amazing show, will never been anything quite like it because there’ll never be as good of a cast. (And the groups of regular guests were excellent too.)
So many great people came from SCTV.
I had the privilege of seeing Wayne Brady perform a live improv show in Auckland a few years ago. Such a presence, and so keen for the audience to get involved (which we did, readily). He brought the house down!
And he can sing...

I thought the best part of this was gonna be "Oh my god..." but then the end of the video happened and the audience participated perfectly without missing a beat! Beautiful!

Whose Line Is It Anyway is fabulous, my dad and I used to watch it together in the evenings. Ryan and Colin were his favourites! Sadly my dad passed away 10 years ago and being able to watch little clips like these bring me so many happy memories. Thank you 😊

@@letsgetit20 oh, have you not seen the cartoon "The Boondocks"? It's a non politically correct comic strip that got animated. Art is top notch, but the episodes are over the top, yet you find yourself going yeah I know that guy. Especially the white banker who's father if one of the two young war veterans. He's the bad guy in an episode or two but after you meet his son and face palm you kinda find yourself rooting for his dirty ass lolz. The whole shows like that. Uncle Rucus has a living embodiment as an "Uncle Tom". He's the shows foil more so than race card. Did I mention it's not politically correct? Also possible not safe for work, but since your off, bump it to the top of your play list and you won't be dissapointed. Just go into it with an open mind and grow as the characters grow.
It's a bit like Archer, but not as well paced. How ever the set up are totally worth it.
