Australian steam locomotive 3801 - Tumulla bank shuttles - June 2021

Scenes recorded over the weekend of June 5th & 6th, 2021, of steam locomotive 3801 hauling trips from Bathurst up Tumulla bank as far as Wimbledon.

I remember playing by that bridge half a century ago, when 5917 was the usual banker.. always wondered was around that bend`,. and where, or what the hell was Wimbledon 🤣, Anyway , the 59 usually came back alone . That was also a nice touch for Mr Thornton too..

Also big respect to the steam crew to pause the train to complete Ian Thornton's last wish will to have his ashes in 3801's firebox up Tumulla Bank. Ian would be very pleases.

She sounded awesome. Great footage as usual. The crew beautifully controlling the wheelslips, never letting her to get fully slip. Pity 5112 didn't have a boiler certificate instead of 4201. And what a contrast in atmosphere over two day's.🇦🇺👍🤠
