And as opening day hit, almost all those prices already half of stated prices… curious to see how far the value will drop on the cards in this set and going forward. Nice to be able to get hits without having to open 6000 packs to find a $350 card though to be honest…

Anyone spending north of a $100 on any of these cards is going to regret that decision. We pulled 4 of the top 10 cards (and a gyrados) out of only 2 etbs, a booster box, and a couple pre-release kits. That's nutty! Gold cards are impossible to pull IMO.

I got 13 hits from my box, I got the full art Mariam but no alt art or whatever they are called now. I did get a gold rare candy, the golds seem hard to pull even though its only like $17 right now. I did get the Miradion alt though, which you have at the number two spot.
You said you didn't get an alt which scared me because quality control and a minimum amount of hits seems to be in place now but then you said you got the Miraidon ex Special Illustration Rare so you did get one. Also it works like this, you normally get 2 Special Illustration Rares per booster box but if you pull a gold that normally takes the place of one of the SIR but I did open a box where I got 2 SIR and a gold still but that seems to be the exception. 4-5 ex(double rare), 2-3 full arts(ultra rare), 2-3 illustration rares(non ex IR), 2 special illustration rares(EX or trainer SIR). Plus the possibly of a hyper rare which then usually takes the place of one of your SIR pulls, hope that helps.
I think the reason the pull rates are supposed to be this, but there were only 2 Japanese sets in this one where the next one Paldea Evolved will have 3 sets in it, so probably a bit harder to get the Iono vs the Miriam, but still easier than it's ever been before.
We got one the other day that had the seal crimp AND it was horribly off centered. Any idea how much that would go for?

I went to Walmart yesterday and picked up 2 boxes and realized each was $60 when before I paid $50 to the prior boxes which was a good deal even at retail price

Since you are the pack opening experts lol I was wondering if it would be better to just buy a booster box or 6 boxes of the 6 packs?
A booster box the the better choice, BUT! If you like randomness, the 6 booster bundles will offer that, you might get less hits, or you might get more.
A great new set, derium and wifey, and almost half an hour because it's 6 boxes? You guys spoil us.

@@DeriumandWifey what box to send it in, how to make sure they dont get damaged, those kind of things. Maybe give examples of boxes you've received and are up to your standards
@@tavoton1989 Of course! The best way is to use USPS flat rate boxes (either large or medium) and to protect the cards, you can either wrap them in paper and tape it shut, use plastic cling or sandwich baggies :)
Prices on Scarlet Violet are tanking hard already. Give it a few weeks and the current top 3 cards will be less than $50. Holo+Reverse will be the new Bulk. With the latest price increase, I have a feeling we are going to see a lot of Pokemon product sitting on the shelves again.
Sword and shield will pop off straight after again….

I don’t understand how people are getting such great pulls. I’ve spent my budget for the MONTH solely on this set today and best card I’ve pulled is the Gyarados. No full arts, no trainers.

Pokémon is better to get good hits rate because the terrible sns era are not fun a all I love getting hit and enjoying the pulls to me I rather put my money where I actually get my money worth having fun getting hits not get disappointed every time it all comes down to what’s valuable to you

People are commenting about the great pulls, but imagine if this is the new norm for pokemon sets. Imagine 4 sets from now when the pulls are still this good and there isn't a single card worth more than $40 in all of scarlet and violet. Its going to kill the hobby. There won't be any magic in pulling good cards anymore and people will stop caring and buying unopened product. Pokemon royally screwed up here
That's one of my fears. As great as it is to be able to buy a few boxes and get everything, what would be the point in opening boxes anymore?

Killing card price too much, while also raising box price to $160 would mean you would always lose money buying Pokemon product. That's not a good thing =p There needs to be 1 or 2 cards that are hard to hit to keep their values up. Example, the normal 'chase' card was 1 in 28 booster boxes. Now it's less than 1 in 5.
