In 1976 I raced the Artic cat Z 250 for 1 race at the USSA east opener in Jackman Maine. We had our butts handed to us by the Merc Snow twister. My dad took the 2 Z's he bought back to the dealer because they promised it to be the fastest new sleds to race in Juinor 1 and J2. My brother and I had new Mercs the following week, as did all the other teams. Man it was great to see that 1976 Cat Z one more time at the beginning of the video. Thanks for that snippet and the rest of the memories in this video.
Really glad you enjoyed!!! Thanks for sharing the memories. Take care!
Can’t believe I missed your video!as always thanks
Glad you enjoyed!!!
love the older sleds my son has a garage full of older sleds 60 s and 70s
Great to hear! Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching!!!
Love the old cats an old sno pro sleds
Just bought a 1971 Lynx with a rotary engine… Stay tuned for that one!
I think the late 70s,80s had the best looking machines ever
I totally agree!!
Love seeing all those old sleds. I remember my Dad bringing home our first sled. A ‘69 Sno-Jet. I think that was around 1976. Thanks for the great video.
Must be such a nice memory!! Thanks for sharing and glad you enjoyed the video! Take care!
Neat!
Thanks!!!
I hope too see some of your winter projects this year.
I hope so too!!! lol!
Great video as usual Matt.. appreciate you sharing the goods from Quebec.. had no idea they made Sea-doos that far back..
Yeah I think Bombardier invented them in the late 60s but only made them for a couple years… Then they brought them back in the 80s! Thanks for watching!!!
You went right by the northway collection. A couple are surely from my brother Andrew Taylor collection. Andy left us in 2022. He restored 7 northway . He worked at factory in 71 or so.
Take a look at my 2022 show video. I do a small segment on them and even show one of them in action at one of out annual winter runs. Glad to hear your brother helped keeping those wonderful machine alive for generations to come! Thanks for watching, take care!
That 650 Sno Pro of Yvon's is freakin awesome! Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
Yeah it was really special to see it in person. Almost unreal! Glad you enjoyed!!!
Love to see these sleds being restored. My first sleds were an '80 and '81 Blizzard 5500. Miss those days for sure....
That’s what fun about these shows is all the great memories they bring back! Thanks for watching!!!
,,,,Snow jet,,,,,,.......as elusive as a yeti around here😮land o' lakes,wi.
We got a lot of them around here as you can see!!!
1973 Cat EXT oval sleds are real rare. Most were run into the ground racing. Twin plug Kawasaki motors. That sound they made is in my dna.
Couldn’t agree more! Thanks for watching!!!
Yep, those are the type of sleds I rode growing up. Good times !
Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching!
On ne voit jamais de motoneige Arlberg dans ces expositions.
Merci du post!
Je n’ai jamais entendu parler d’un Arlberg…. Peux etre je vais en voir un un jour!
Nice video Matt. I'm hoping to get to the 24 show. I had to choke down some sorrow when I didn't see any John Deere machines. I wondered if there were any, or if the rain just caused you to run out of time, to get to those. Over here in Saint Albans Vt. John Deere was an iconic brand for our family. My first sled when I was about 14, was a 1974 JDX4 Special. The "Special" meant that it had sliders instead of boggie wheels. I think they may have only made that specific sled for one year. Keep up the good work.
If you make it to the 2024 show, come say hi if you see me! I don’t remember specifically if there were any JDs this year. I know in 2022 they were a couple. Thanks for the comment and see you this summer!!!!
Awesome video! Thank you for sharing and posting.
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching!!!
Grew up with these sleds
Glad you enjoyed!
@@mattsws I did love to find one
These are the best shows skis down! That 5500 Blizzard wow!!! Did you see any Kawasaki sleds.? Is it weird if I was drooling?!
Lol! Glad you enjoyed! There must have been a few cats with Kawasaki engines in them, but I didn’t end up filming them… Thanks for watching!!!
That blizzard,,it was on eagle river track...,,,rolloflex???wow.😮
Nice video thanks for sharing your day!
Glad you enjoyed!!! Thanks for leaving a comment and thanks for watching! Take care!
Great video, Matt. I really like the vintage sleds .
Thanks!! I’m really glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching!
Matt, appreciate you posting another terrific vlog about this vintage snowmobile event. Recognized many sleds from my era on the trails. A 'vintage Sea Doos, cool! Our local dealer had one in '69, but I don't remember any follow on years and few know anything about them.
I am really glad you enjoyed the video and that it brought back some nice memories! I am not a Seadoo expert, but I think they only made them in 68-69, then they stopped until bringing them back in the 80s… I was fun to see! Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching! Take care!
Love the old sleds keep it up
Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!!!

I never even heard of a Herters snowmobile before your post! Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
15:16 - That 1-cyl Thunderjet has the cylinder head installed the wrong way.
You have a better eye than me for that stuff!!! Do you think it makes a difference??
@@mattsws - In a race, the head might overheat and cause pre-ignition which then can make a hole in the piston.
@@cybair9341 I just rewatched that part and sure enough, the head is on sideways... I totally see how that would mess up cooling... unless it was a DRIFT SLED!! Lol!
Have you ever come across a 1982 SRX 500 V Max? That is a ghost sled since I believe Yamaha recalled all of them.
I have not!!! Maybe one day!!!
