- Last week, Aerosmith announced their retirement from touring. To honor the band, I figured why not go through their vinyl I have in my collection. From the 1973 debut album up to the more recent Record Store Day live album, let's walk through the albums from one of the greatest bands of all time. Come join the fun.

Aerosmith will forever remain in my top 3 favorite bands of all time
They are one of the best, no doubt.
…I was at the Worcester Centrum show where they filmed the live bits for the Angel video. It was 1987 if memory serves - in 1977 I was ten and luckily had/have an older brother who dragged into the house all the A-Smith records. When he went out with friends to get baked, I’d put on those funky huge seventies headphones and listen to all of em…on loud volume and read all the liner notes. Also in the stack was: Frampton Comes Alive, Rumors, KISS ALIVE, Steve Miller GH’s record, Queen NATO & DATR, LZII. News was in particular a favorite of mine. No wonder I picked up electric bass a few years later! I love John Deacon. Great time to be a kid! PS: I attended the Manning Bowl ‘85 show in Lynn, Mass. Crazy show!
Really cool! Some great memories there. Thanks for sharing. And the 70's and 80's were the best time for music...IMO
@@2loud2oldmusicI’d have to agree. Those were some very exaggerated times where your hair style or what you wore was actually a big deal and said a lot. The digitalization of music by 1980 marked the decline of it all. Bands like ASmith, Allman Bros., Floyd etc. were suddenly looking at eachother saying “well, what the hell do we do now?” How do you compete with homogenous acts like Eurythmics, Flock of Seagulls, Kajagoogoo…by 1983? Van Halen were largely responsible for bridging Rock music into the new decade - but Dave eventually derailed into solo and walked. Between Nirvana and the advent of the internet by ‘95, sucked the “wow factor” out of life in general, it’s been a downward spiral ever since…and we’re still heading downward!
CAN NOT believe that you don't have PUMP!
It is a Monster
I have it on CD, just have not found the vinyl. When I do, I will be buying it. Thanks for watching.
My 1st personal buy was Rocks. It's my favorite record. I have an og Done with Mirrors. I love that album. With pump bringing up 3rd.
@@jefferypresnell4368 great too 3. I think DWM is so underrated.
My top 5 would be
1 Rocks
2 Toys in the attic
3 Get your wings
4 Aerosmith
5 Draw the line
Very nice! Interesting, nothing from the 80's...a pure 70's guy!! Awesome!
A far as top 5 anyway.@2loud2oldmusic
@@SteveSmith-md1fl I slipped Permanent Vacation in to my Top 5 but that was it for non-70’s.
Damn great idea.
My Top 5 Aero studio albums (today)...
1-Rocks
2-Toys
3-Draw The Line
4-PUMP
5-Done With Mirrors
Yes, a great idea! Keep the list coming!!
I saw 'Live Bootleg' a couple of weeks ago on CD, but never grabbed it, which I regret! If I see it again, I'll have to get it! I have a soft spot for Aerosmith, despite thinking their '70s stuff was the best.
@@lateramae one of the greatest bands.
@@2loud2oldmusic They're iconic, for sure.
Original release of Nine Lives did not contain I Don't Want to Miss a Thing and is a Great lp in my view
I didn't remember that, good to know. I don't think it is their worst, but not one of my favorites. Still some great songs on there though.
Hi John… great stuff ! My #1 and #2 are the same as yours. I spun Toys In The Attic yesterday. So good. I also like Done With Mirrors. You are right it does have that rawness to it. I finally got Pump on vinyl recently. I’m only missing Just Push Play on vinyl. I don’t think it was ever released on vinyl so hopefully a reissue will come . Not my fav album by them but gotta have it. One thing I’m always on the look out for is that Box of Fire boxset with their studio albums on cd. Thank you John. Chez
@@Thunderstruckzzz hey Chez! I need those two as well on vinyl so hopefully I wi find them one day. And I need the Box of Fire too. I don’t ever see it out in the local shops. Someday. They need to start doing some deluxe edition sets one day.
Just Push Play was released on vinyl! But it was only released back in 2001 and hasn’t been repressed since. It’s definitely a rare one to find. Copies are currently available on Discogs, but prices start at $260!
Do you have 2004’s Honkin’ On Bobo on vinyl? That’s also a hard one to find. It was pressed back in 2004 and never again. Also available on Discogs, but starting at $165.
I was lucky to get each of those albums for about $100 each a few years ago! Felt like a lot to spend on one album, but I certainly don’t regret it now! 😅
And then there’s also 2012’s Music From Another Dimension. It was pressed in 2012, but it’s not as expensive these days, probably because it’s not a super popular album. 😛
The big question is whether or not Just Push Play is worth $200+.
@@rolando_j_ Ha! The answer is no.
If you have a decent system, I think it is. I believe it is direct metal mastering. I recently grabbed one and I’m happy with it
