Let’s be honest, when Black Gryph0n sings you can hear the changes. He also does not use as much auto tune. When Joel sings you can always hear the Joel in his voice. They both sing really well but Joel was kind of giving himself all of the points lol. No hate!!!!!

Gabe is way better at hiding the tones of his natral voice in his voice mimicking. Roomie has a high pitched voice, and no Mater how well he does at getting the aspects of the voice mimicking spot on, it always sneaks out the back. Even though not all the mimicking aspects weren't perfect, due to Gabe being better at hiding his natural tone, he did better.
Roomie is being a little too unfair in his judgments. He is only pointing out what he did right and what Gabe did wrong (witch in some cases he did fewer things right but still gave himself the point) 👎
I think that it’s cool when Roomie does voice impressions and there is almost always a bit of his own voice in it, yet you can tell that he’s trying to sound like a certain artist, whereas Gabe either sounds almost exactly like the artist or like himself doing a cover

I feel like, Joels impressions are less impressions and more singing as them, Gabriel personally does more of an impression, Joel isnt exactly a good impressionist, but he is a great singer, and gabe is good singer too, but he's also an actual impressionist

The problem with Joel’s voice is that it always the same “Joel-tone” behind it. That way not not an impression, more trying to sing in the same way.

I know what you mean, my voice is quite distictive, which works for some voices (ie Harry Styles, Brendon Urie etc) but not as much for others. Gabe's "Soft Natural Voice" gives him advantages on some other types of voices

This is so entertaining, I thoroughly enjoyed it but for complete fairness and an unbiased opinion, you could possibly have a panel of CZcams friends [3 if possible] who knows music to act as judges and start by playing the original track then follow with both impressions. Then do a score tally.

I feel Gabe nails the inflections of everyone, which already I feel is more important as it’s the inflections that allow people to tell who ur impersonating. But I feel the main reason Gabe is better is on the basis that I can still tell it’s Joel on ALL his voices whereas if someone played some of Gabe’s without the video, I wouldn’t immediately tell it was him. Joel’s just sound too much like himself putting on a voice
I agree but I think that both are also way better than I could do :) but you can tell more I think just because he has such a different accent than Gabe and it is more of like an accent that you don't hear a lot and its stronger than Gabe's. But def agree❤

The thing is with Roomie, with all of his impressions I can hear his original voice. With Black Gryphon, they all sound distinct. For that reason alone, Black Gryphone easily takes the cake.

Roomie replied to a similar comment upthread and said he agreed. He said his voice is more distinctive which works for some impressions but affects others whereas Gabe's voice is a little less distinctive so you can't here it as much in impressions.
@@Harri_James but id say that gives Black Gryphon the advantage in ALL impressions. If in an impression you can hear the original singer's voice, it's no good. You want to be able to close your eyes and think you're listening to the actual singer. I think this is something roomie developed more recently, because I found his older impressions better, especially since they didn't have strong traces of his original voice

I agree, Roomie's voice seems to penetrate through almost each song while Gryphon is really good at distinguishing those little niche things each artists do and exploiting them so he sounds more like them. Roomie is going too much by pronunciations for niche things instead of overall impression as Gryphon is way better.

There were several of these that I liked Gryphon better. His MJ was perfect and he really sounded like and embodied the artists even if pronunciation of all words wasn’t perfect. Roomy was really good though with the weeknd, Lil Nas, Billie Eilish, Harry Styles, and Brandon Flowers.

I honestly think that Gryph0n's impressions were better overall and Roomie was focusing many times on tiny details rather than the whole thing. When Roomie does an impression, it kinda still sounds like him. And it might just be me but there's a weird high-pitched overtone whenever Joel goes into a higher range. I ultimately think Gabe's voice is more versatile.
I think the nuances are really important in impressions though, Roomie puts a lot of effort into the details, which is why he was fixated on them in his assessment.
