I understand that the vast majority of people do not upgrade every year and most new phones are aimed at those with older devices. But I think we’re at a point in time where tech across the board is starting to plateau a bit when it comes to advancements with phones. Even if you have an older phone there isn’t much incentive to upgrade.
Facts, I currently have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and I have not had a reason to upgrade at all 😂 I do plan on upgrading this year to the 16 Pro Max but it’s still looking very similar to my 12

I won’t replace my 14 pro max until it drops. I’ve learned a lot for the past several years about when it’s a *necessary* time to make a switch. You either trade when there’s a well developed feature that your phone doesn’t have, well developed as in it was perfected after a couple of years of debugging, basically after a couple first devices that has said feature. -or you keep your device until it literally isn’t compatible with the ever growing network (which can take 5-8 years for your phone to suffer performance failures).

I think 17 might be something worthwhile, like how rhe 14 was a pretty good bump from the 23. Me personally, I upgrade every 2-2.5 years. I went from 11 to 12, and then 12 to 14, waiting for the 17?!
I currently have a 13 mini which I really love, as I have small hands, but the battery just doesn’t last with heavy use.
Time to upgrade my iPhone X to the 16 Pro Max. Counting the days!!!

I can't remember the last time I was this excited to be buying a new Phone. I've always used android phones and I've decided that I'm going to try an Iphone for the first time ever.

I just got the 15 pro max and no bloody way am I going to upgrade again anytime soon lol. So far, I really like it. I like the feel of it, how responsive it is, and the battery life is impressive.
I have it too friend. It really is crazy how responsive it is. This thing absolutely flies. Every time I use my note 9 (which is what I upgraded from) and then go back to using the 15 pro max it feels like everything slides across the screen like butter. It is glorious. Keeping this phone at least 4 years. That should give Apple enough time to work out the AI kinks lol

Apple retains it value really well, I don’t mind selling my 13 pro and buying the 16 pro for the Dynamic Island, better camera, fresh battery life, lighter weight, and the main feature for me - always on display/ standby mode

I’m on a 8 plus waiting for a hole punch/ full screen on a pro max. Apple keeps slipping though. Loosing faith in how long they take for huge updates 😂
I know they won't because of greed but Apple needs to stop doing yearly releases, 12 months simply isn't long enough for innovation. Gaming companies understand this with their once every 5/7 year releases

Since it’s may unless you really need a new phone I’d wait on the 16 models I currently have a 14pm which still works great but I decided to wait on the 16 series if I don’t like it I’ll just get 15pm and save a few bucks because year old iPhones still feel brand new

Switched from an iPhone 13 to a Z Fold 5. I can say I really needed a big change. (The fold is wonderful, by the way. You should really try one.)

I recently bought a 15 Plus after having my 11 For years. Absolutely NOTHING has changed on the 16. yeah, bigger sizes, but there is no increase in help with lower models, Where is 120hz on lower phones? Apple loves to just scam their customers.
They need to work on their apps and features more instead of making new phones every year. The other day Siri couldnt even tell me the name of the establishment I was at.

I HATE iphones with the square edges, I am still using iPhone XS with rounded edges. The new ones are also extremely heavy I can't imagine putting it in a pocket. My work phone is an iPhone 14 and I almost never use it, it sits in my bad. The only thing it;'s good for is the photos. I may have to start looking at another brand if Apple keeps the same look and everything for YET ANOTHER year running
We're gonna have the 17 bionic on the iPhone 16 and 18 Pro. Apple nerfs its previous years flagship Pro chips and adds them to the next base tier iPhone.

iphones never go on sale. Especially at the apple store. Also becareful buying an "unlocked" phone from stores like bestbuy etc. They claim the devices are unlocked, which is to a certain extent. Soon as you use a carrier of your choice, it LOCKS to that carrier.
look at your iPhone 15 pro right now, now erase the 15 and put 16 next to the pro.
