i love Denis. he's fighting the good fight. keeping metalcore alive. specifically the old AA stand up and scream style
The good:
• Denis’s voice is amazing as always.
•music video is high quality.
•Denis’s transitions from clean singing to screaming is awesome.
The bad:
•song is kind of boring tbh.
•breakdown seems kind of forced imo.
Overall score:
7/10
Idk I thought the chorus was super fun and that transition into the breakdown was pretty seamless. I’d give it at least an 8.5 or 9 out of 10

I love Dennis's voice. I've never been so excited for a song release like I was for this. AA released a single Friday and it was alright. Danny came back and they just suck.

The Black is my favorite AA album because of the raw emotion + energy they showed and Denis did a great job. I have pretty good hopes that “Demons Away” in May will be fantastic!

Thoroughly agree on the chorus; The chorus and verse together with his cleans felt a little long and there wasn’t a good ‘buffer’ between them to keep your attention completely. The transitions between the chorus and uncleans were really good, and the couple times he shifted his distortion to give ‘variety’ in a couple lines was a great addition.
I was kinda hoping to hear him go a little more ‘visceral’ in his highs or deeper lows, but I fully respect the cleans here, even if their production/mix with the song felt kinda odd (not entirely *clear*, maybe a bit muddy).
Is good to see you giving your opinion, about the music.
I love it, sure it's not as awesome as the Black, but I still give it a 4/5.

yeah nothing unique BUT instrumentally for me it was executed super well and I love the sound/style. I think different melodies throughout would have set it apart more / made it stand farther above the similar songs

A good example of that is Alone in a Hollow Room. It's got both Hollow, and Alone in a room mixed together, with vocals from both. I think it sound pretty decent. EDIT: It's not an official video by either band, just a few people have done

Anyone else notice that the second half of the chorus is very similar to their deleted song hollow? Similar lyrics and similar vocal pitch
Yeah sounds like they still wanted to use what they wrote somehow. Since the other song had to be removed I can see why they’d want to hang onto that part and use it on something else so that it wasn’t a total waste

The problem is the chorus is a rework of hollow and I dont think denis'heart is in it. Cause the melodies work extremely well on hollow, way better than here. And all the other parts of the song are very inspired
I guess they felt they wanted to have those parts and melodies on records but, its just not working on this chorus the way they've laid it out
I wouldn’t say his heart isn’t in it, sounded like a very impressive vocal delivery in my opinion. I just don’t think the melody fit the context of this songs instrumental as well as Hollow.
@@christianlgrey_ I guess my feeling is he just wanted the part in a song the band can officially back and whether the melodies worked or not was secondary. To me even though he sang the part well, it wasn't written with his full attention and passion

The album drops on May 8th, iirc. The issue was that they switched the label/the contract had run out and they were self-producting stuff or rather had to and don't have a label atm. The songs had been ready for quite a while, but the mixing etc. had to be done by themselves, I think. So yeah, But I def. know what you mean.
