The refractive power of the astigmatic eye varies in different meridians. The image is formed as a Sturm's conoid.If the principal meridians are at 90° to each other, this is called regular astigmatism. If the principal meridians are at 90° to each other but do not lie at or near 90° and 180°, the term oblique astigmatism is used. If the principal meridians are not at 90° to each other, this is called irregular astigmatism and cannot be corrected by
spectacles.
Compound hypermetropic astigmatism - rays in all meridians come to a focus
behind the retina
Simple hypermetropic astigmatism - rays in one meridian focus on the retina,
the other focus lies behind the retina.
Mixed astigmatism - one line focus lies in front of the retina,
the other behind the retina.
Simple myopic astigmatism - one line focus lies on the retina, the other
focus lies in front of the retina.

I’m just wondering if the right sph +2.50 ,cyl-1.25 ,axis 5 and Left one is sph +0.50 syl-0.75 ,axis 150. Can the surgery to be a solution in this case? Thank you

Correction power needed for vertical is -6
Correction power needed for horizontal is -4
Same type of correction on both, so it's Compound Astigmatism
And the correction is -, so the defect is +, this eye is Myopic
And there is more power vertically than horizontally, so overall it's: WTR Compound Myopic Astigmatism
