Great job, DJ! I rode the cars from Albany to Chicago, and then on #3 they were added to the end of that train between Chicago and Los Angeles. The Northern Pacific dome was added in Albany, and the Pennsylvania car was taken off in Chicago. Great ride!

Intresting! I know the Suter heads to Vermont for Autumn and ~Used~ to winter in a train yard in PA. I wonder what led it to Illinois. Inquiring minds want to know. Seriously! There's rumors that the new leadership at the rail yard didn't want the Sutter coming back.

Wow you got a tour inside the luxury trains! It’s like an apartment on rails. Very different from the bland, commuter-oriented interiors of LIRR and NJT

    Nice Catch !
There are several tours of the Francis L. Suter online ~ hosted by the previous and also the current owners. Some fan/ documentary websites too. Interesting History! Would love to try this type of rail solitude sometime.
With all of these beauties, A quick key word search will likely find more in-depth videos / photos .

Can you increase the length of time the descriptions are displayed? As a visually impaired person the length of time didn't make things easy to read. Love you channel though.

Hi There! A quick remedy for this is to go to the settings 🔆 icon on the video and set the play speed slower. It can go pretty slow. Helps enjoy the sites longer, I suppose.

Amtrak doesn't use these in their service. They're privately owned cars available for charter by individuals or groups to travel and coupled onto Amtrak for a huge fee. It's also not uncommon for car owners to pay Amtrak to deadhead them to different locations.

The private rail cars sure do add a touch of class to the Amtrak train. I've heard Amtrak is giving private rail car owners a lot of headaches with rules and regulations for moving them and exorbitant switching costs. One of the newest restrictions is denial of using the open observation platform when the train is in motion. That may be why the first private car was in the train, not at the end. I've travelled in private rail cars a few times. It's absolutely the way to go! Thanks for all the details on these cars.

I guess they don’t want to be responsible when people fall off the open balcony. It’s a shame tho…

@@jackchen7003 If you're careful you don't fall off. I've ridden many of them but never discount the number of careless people out there.

I went to the MTA Museum! I love the old trains!! The new trains are unfriendly to the customer! Except the Amtrak trains! I'm talking about the New York city trains!!!
I don't know about the other parts of the country and other parts of the world. how they design a train? And if it's friendly to the customer?
