    Honestly, lore stuff like this would be awesome to have in the game... We have "unknown signals" and rare "strong unknown signals"... But do you know what would be cool? If there was an unknown signal several thousand km away with *no distance marker* that broadcasts "" for 10 seconds at random intervals between 30mins and 1 day. It would be a very long and difficult quest because you could be following this question mark for days, and when you finally find it? Who knows... That's for the devs to decide.

  • @syncshard
    @syncshard Před 4 lety

    Here’s what’s wrong:
    1. Signal marker is white.
    2. Never actually wrote down or copied the coordinates.
    3. Lack of suspense/surprise upon finding the base.
    4. When mining into the base, the description says “Built by AndrewmanGaming”.
    5. You already know what to do in Premiere.
    6. Empty hotbar, instead of one that has extra tools and items that you’ll usually find on a normal hotbar.
    7. Materials of the base are not actually alien, I would expect something like an alien base be built from some type of modded resource, take for example Subnautica’s base building vs Precursor bases.
    8. Lack of confusion upon finding that the drop pod isn’t actually a drop pod.
    9. Fake laughs.
    That is all I can think of.

    I never comment on anything, but this deserves it.
    After reading some of the signs in the comments a feel a little stupid, like the "Built by AndrewmanGaming" when destroying one of the blocks (and the fact that when watching, the April fools thing was in the title), but honestly, I was so drawn in by the prospect of the devs including some crazy drop that only Sherlock fucking Holmes would get to the bottom of. Amazing.

    I mean, I could tell this was an April fool's joke, but only because I'm a nerd and I know that anything existing in the world would be in my world files which I scrutinise frequently to look for hidden things.
    That said, it was a fun video and I think Keen should actually pay attention to this because it would be amazing to actually have things like this in the game to go and hunt down. It'd give you something to do with your 'late game' long range vessels other than just mining and attacking lifeless NPC vessels. Reminded me of Atlas when I was tracking down all of the engines and planetary cores.

    I have an idea for a huge update, basically it would involve something like this and it takes you to an entirely new solar system with new ores and when you finish the quest that has to do with it you get a dlueprint for a special warp drive that lets you travel between the 2 systems at will

    You make a good point. Wish the world building was more like say minecraft for example, with caves and especially ruins, whether that be long dead orbiting and coasting space stations, or bases down in caves. Also mining is far too fast so people don't really bother building mining rigs, and would just make the straightest path to the resources instead of follow caves.

    I went down the rabbit hole without finishing the video. I figured it was shenanigans when I found nothing on the moon.However using the video I grabbed the second Coord. and headed towards it. After trying to add a speed mod to travel the 30,000 Km my save was busted. so i finished the video and only wasted an hour of my life. hahaha great one, and I agree the game could use some quest lines. I really enjoy Wasted's Escape from Mars series for this reason.

    • @AndrewmanGaming
      @AndrewmanGaming  Před 5 lety

      I figured the white would be fine since any of my signals are usually blue. Fun fact - I'm really bad at spelling "signals" and I like to spell it "siginals." I had to completely redo the shot because I spelled the beacon incorrectly!

    events like this would most likely work best on a multiplayer server.
    perhaps they could setup an official 'home' server for stuff like this and then this would be a much more fun way to unlock skins and what not.
    oh though they will likely need some kind of pretty decent servers so they'd likely have to change some kind of subscription fee if you want to join said 'home' server in order for them to keep it running and maybe even upgraded the hardware on occasion.
