It's his toddler's monomaniacal view of the world that offends people.
"Cars are boring" despite the massive enthusiast following that supports multiple car magazines and TV shows in many countries.
"Am I the only person who has never driven a car off a road" Certainly not. Many people don't, but quite a few do. Those who do will purchase a vehicle that specializes in that aspect of mobility. There are whole National Recreation Areas set aside for the purpose of providing responsible, safe areas for people to drive off the main highways.
"It doesn't have anything to do with my experience of driving". Yeah, so what...
Cupholders: "If it's on the right, it's a good design. If it's on the left, bad design, because I'm right-handed."
Ironically. it's the same sort of amusement at watching a grown man spout off opinions on subjects he knows nothing about that gives Jeremy Clarkson a lot of his popularity on the right.

Clearly you don't watch much comedy, which just suggests you're completely humourless. Anyway it's ok to shit on someone but you're literally making the wrong assumptions about him - he's very far from being one of the fame-crazy attention whores, that suggestion is just silly.

This is generally going to be something more for the working class to enjoy than the upper crust of society.

The fact that Top Gear is scripted isn't a problem. It's the fact that they pretend like it's not. They can't act and it shows. The worst offender for me was when they bought James May this shitty little car that he really liked and then a huge lorry reversed into it and it was all played as though it wasn't scripted or planned. Their reactions are fake. The whole thing was fake.
Another one is when Hammond "forgot" to put the handbrake on when his 4x4 rolled down that sand dune or whatever it was after they'd taking the 4x4's through the jungle. Again I forget the specifics but it was played for real when it was clearly all faked.

A few stand out, like the Toyota Hillux that couldn't be destroyed, or the Spyker C8 that I adore the aesthetic of, but when they sit down and talk about a new sportscar or whatever I switch off a bit (not all the way, cos I know the three will give us some good material from it). I love the challenges, the humour, the Stig, the three guys' dynamic, and even a few of the cars they've shown, but I don't care for cars as a subject.
