Also his adaptability to different playing styles was questionable, as he seemed out of sync with his teammates. But he had his early success at Real, but still failed to reach the heights expected of a player with his potential, making him a disappointment

In these days everybody is discussing about the tremendous dominance of Real Madrid in Champions League: some cyncally talk about Carlo Ancelotti fortune, or the referees mistakes here and there, some talk about some kind of mystic, as the players were blessed by some kind of magic power, but watching again these goals scored in a period where Madrid was dominating europe as well as nowadays it seems that they introjected better than anyone the simplicity of the game. Every player is simply extremely educated in the tecnique principles and they accept every aspect of the game including casuality and yes, of course, fortune. Doing this the team is always aware of the psycological aspect of the game. And that is very very relevant. They can occasionally find someone (like Manchester City in 2023) who expresses 100% of a new or sophisticated tattic, but in the long run they will always emerge renewed in the wake of this consolidated legacy. That's why Ancelotti (but also Zidane) is the best coach they can ever have.
