Apollo seemed to love stretching his legs. He's been doing a lot of work on his collected canter and a good blow out now and then, I should imagine, is very welcome. How wonderful that hubby is going to ride out with you. I couldn't think of a better thing that you guys could do together. Can't wait for the next clip 👍

This is so great on many levels! As Pharouk may not shy as much because of the confidence that apollo has on the trail, horses do learn from each other, now poor running man will have to try to keep up with both of you to film! Lol! Unless u get him a mount! Thats what happens with horses, you can never have too many! Lol! So great for u all! Cant wait to see you all riding out together!

Wow....it will be so nice if you can hack together in the beautiful countryside where you live! I am still doing ground work with the sweet girl I am working with though she has been ridden some. She doesn't look as big and powerful as she is until I am walking her past the nice patches of grass in the barn area....working on getting past them which is an exercise for me. So fun to see you take your hubby on such adventures in life. He clearly loves the boys so much. I think Apollo will be great!

Hi Tara When we were both able to ride my husband and i rode out together always. He was a much more experienced rider than me and because of this he gave me more confidence in my own ability. Yah got to be careful out there I had a good friend of mine that almost fell off his horse when he was riding out,and about balancing, and training is very important indeed you've got to be careful out,and about. 👍🐾🐎🐴thank again for sharing this story with us very good horse 101 training there.
So true about balance. Tough to learn at first, but also not something that's natural forever, unless you train constantly. I haven't been on a horse since 2008, and I feel like I'd have to start over.

Tara, can you share with us about the horse you had before Apollo. Was his name Konig? Why did you sell him? Is he in the US? Would you ever consider selling Apollo or Farouk?
Yes one of the horses was called Koning and he went to the US. The other horse was Zeus. When Rens stopped riding we sent them back to Stal Okkema which is who we bought them from so he could find them new homes for them. However I felt that Apollo missed having a companion so we bought Farouk. I don’t have any plans to sell either horse but I would not rule it out.
@@Tara101 I agree, Apollo does very well on a snaffle [which is the standard for English pleasure over here, while a curb is for Western seat, both of which I used. And I personally have no use for a Pelham]. However, i only know 2 riders who use only bitless, both are not what you would call 'typical' in the horse world. As I no longer can, I just wonder what a regular rider, on a horse not specially trained for it, thinks.
Not sure if you’ve ever said, but how did you get into riding? I know it’s popular in your part of Yorkshire, was it a family thing? Or did you just find a stables nearby when you were a teenager?

Apollo is very calm and Rens has a bond with him. He did ride for a while three years ago but gave up.

Looks kinda warm out there, down here in Texas it is in the 8o's to the low 90's here.
Texas is much warmer than here in Yorkshire, in summer the best we can hope for is about 75f. It sometimes get to 80 but that is very rare
