  • Hi Guys,
This is a video on advanced ship stability for senior mariners and naval architects; and explains the use of Simpson's second rule to calculate areas of a space enclosed by a straight line and curve.
The link to the video on the use of Simpson's First Rule is provided:

Sectional areas of a 180m LBP ship up to 5m draught at constant interval along the length are as follows. Find its volume displacement and its LCB from amidships.

In the question 1 you have divided h into equal intervals that is 9 since we have 10 co-ordinates.....
My question is in the diagram..... Why have u left 4th column blank.... between 5.25 and 6.45....

Hi, I've always watched your videos and I've noticed that some of the answers didn't have units like grams. May i suggest adding units. Thank you so much!!

in the figure, why have u left 4th column blank?

  • @lawrencerheygelvero4344

what if there are only 4 ordinates? what are the SM for that? Im seeking for your help because our professor does not teach us.

With due respect, sir, there is a small mistake. The ordinate numbers should be even if you want to use Simpson's 2nd rule according to the Ship Stability for Masters and Mates.
