    Clarinet quartet gives the effect of playing melody with harmony (duplication of same copy of melody on both of the hands with addition of two more keys in between for making chords) on reed organ (foot-pumped harmonium) in most of the parts where all the four clarinetists simultaneously play. When one clarinetist play in separate rhythm and other three clarinetists accompany him in same rhythm it sounds like clarinet accompanied by organ ( foot-pumped harmonium). When one clarinetist alone play and other three clarinetist keep silence it is clearly understandable. Not only in quartet of same musical instruments but also in quartet of different musical instruments too the individual instruments are clearly understandable when one plays and other three keep silence. When one plays in separate rhythm and other three plays in same rhythm one instrument which is played in separate rhythm is clearly understandable and other three instruments simultaneously played sounds like chords played on organ. When all the four instruments are simultaneously played in same rhythm it sounds like playing melody with harmony ( duplication of same copy of melody with addition of two keys in between to make chords) on organ ( foot-pumped harmonium).

    I can't hear the bass clarinet for most if the piece , the only times it's actually there is when it has half or whole notes

      For some reason in musescore the second you put any sort of articulation (particularly staccato) on lower bass clarinet notes it just..........becomes inaudible

    Why would you transcribe this in Ab instead of the original key of A?

    • @TonyBCHuang
      @TonyBCHuang  Před 3 lety +3

      It's too difficult to play in A, and all wind band versions are also transposed to Ab.

    • @steftrando
      @steftrando Před 3 lety

      @@TonyBCHuang Why would it be too difficult to play in A? There are wind instruments in orchestras right now playing it in A.

      This arrangement is based off of the band version, also you clearly dont play clarinet lol

      If common clarinets were to play in the original key of A, then they would have to read in B major with is 5 sharps, which leads to complicated fingerings and an overall more challenging score. It's transposed to Ab so that wind bands can play it comfortably, since they mostly play in flat keys. For the clarinets, that would mean reading in the much friendlier key of Bb major.
      While A clarinets do exists, they are only used by semi-pro and pro orchestras reading orchestra music in sharp key signatures.

      @@ThePikminMaster6523 So the A clarinets play the original and for them it's just in C so it's easy?

    Doesn't sound like real clarinet to me, but some computer generated simulation.

      Dirk Hoekstra it is a computer generated clarinet. It said it was made by musecore on the end
