Stick the military bumper on, as the extra strength and that towing pin will repay you so many times over. You can also attach the rubber ends, just by drilling a couple of holes.
I have an original galvanised bumper on my Land Rover 90. I have fitted a towing hitch in line with a chassis member. Out those replacement bumpers I prefer the military one. More purposeful. Each to their own.
I like the military bumper but I'm biased, I bought one from LR a few years back, I'd suggest brushing a decent coat of clear waxoyl or similar on the back of any of them, especially around the various plates and strengthening webs on the back. I've since replaced mine with a Terrafirma commercial winch bumper (again from LR) , been on for 5 years and the finish is still excellent.
Another excellent video. The presentation and content is perfect and it’s clear to see the amount of work that you put into each video. I have the silver Nakatanenga headlight surrounds, grill and a stainless bumper on my 90. It looks awesome. Thanks for yet another great video.
All of these will rot quickly unfortunately. The one I bought my 90 with is an uproar 4x4 option that looks super aggressive and is stainless so won’t rot. You guys should check them out.
Tubular winch bumper on mine but out of those Military one wins hands down. Im considering switching to Devon 4x4 high mount though or a DF one. Either way next one will be galvinised
The Britpart bumper is cheap and the corrosion will start faster than the genuine LR one. If it was my own truck I would use something from ORE but they are not cheap and it may be out of your planning remit for this series of improvements. Nice format to the video though. Thinking of fitting a wheel carrier in future episodes?
Hey, I'd LOVE to get the same grill on my 2001 TD5 non aircon - but when I look up the fitting nakatanenga one its not that shape? Is the defender in this video 2007+, or with air con?
Sorry but why fit orrible painted bumpers, inside out 4x4 do some nice galvanized bumpers, my 110 and 90 both have their military hybrid bumpers that are made with a heavier gauge steel and I have pulled a mates 10 ton steam roller with the pin
Military bumper looks good with the white paint

Military. If your wish is to try to keep it as standard as possible then it's the only other option than the plain one. No LEDs, no cooling slots.
Yeah agree, with others, miltary bumper. Needs black checker plate on the wings and bonnet. 👍
Military bumper for me!

I prefer the military one, you just know it can take a bump or two, if someone reverses into that skeleton 1 it's gonna fold.
Put LED's in the Military bumper - Job jobbed.
I researched this too and in the end went with a Dixon fabrication bumper (tubular a bar) but with no winch.

Military bumper looks wicked !

Thanks for commenting. I'll take a look at the ORE stuff. We'll be fitting a MANTEC swing away carrier in the next few weeks!

Does lr centre sell the circle led lights on the skeletal bumper themselves?
military - but don't overload...some say its only suitable to move a loaded sankey trailer ? never tried it for serious weight recovery
Where do you fit number plate?

Pity their website doesn't show any of the products that are available.
In my opinion all four bumpers you have demonstrated do not have anywhere near the quality as ORE. Britpart will rust out within 6 months.
ORE do some great kit.
