The country was a hotbed of aggression, violence and despair but this world cup turned that around (short lived) dramatically and everyone was behind the single cause. Never felt anything like it. I always thought that last scene in Invictus, when Damon's Pienaar makes that correction about '43 million South Africans supporting' them was a dramatization ... until I saw this footage. What captains these are, Mandela of a country like your Rainbow Nation, and Pienaar of a South African squad that had been banned from rugby for years prior to this glorious return. These are examples for us all, for the ages.

@@Balboa_Rocky It's was fucked the day Nelson Mandela died. It's completely fucked now in 2023. Infrastructure is falling apart, No water, No Electricity, South Africa has the highest unemployment rate in the world after its rate increased to 32.9% in the first three months of 2023, after another 179 000 people lost their jobs. The ANC government are the biggest thieves and have all stolen billions of rands, Taxman is raping everyone, crime is one of the worst in the world and white people, well white men cannot get jobs - So reverse apartheid in a sense. Also, our petrol and food prices have become so expensive, we can hardly afford to survive on our salaries that never increase... So yeah, that's how it is now... It is what it is! But i am still South African and love my country and the diversity and cultures. now on November 6, 2023, I can't believe the Springboks won, they have the fourth cup, those who believe in themselves and overcome, even in more epic games since the quarter-finals, this is mysticism, magic of South Africans

This is without doubt a moment in Rugby history a team of South Africans the majority of whom were Africanas bringing together a nation backed by a black President who in my humble estimation was not only the greatest leader of all time but a visionary . Oh how Africa needs another Madiba.

Regardless of who did it, 31/36 of the nz squad had food poisoning 2 days before the match, you can tell the abs arent rheir normal selves, colorless dry zombie like, they were changing their shorts thru the game because they soiled them, plus vomitting on the sideline. I wouldnt be proud to beat that team.

    rugby was another thing
    so much has evolved
lineout was random now it’s precise
    scrums were spontaneous now structured
high tackles almost no problem now yellow and red cards
