Come on she's a smart woman. She knew she she was going to be his next Mrs. the moment she laid eyes on him.

I finally can stop watching these video's. Katie finally asked the hard and unpleasant questions. And he evaded everything.

I think him not being able to reflect on his behaviour and say he could have done better is a huge red flag! Lack of remorse when he clearly played Leslie is a clear sign that he is indeed a narcissist.

Katie, I hope you get to interview the 3 year live-in girlfriend that Gerry didn't want us to find out about. He totally evaded that ?--he is slick. Theresa seems so nice but I hope she isn't naive--a prenup would be a must if this were me--the other gals dodged a bullet I think!!
The other gals are the bullets. They just weren't the one. I picked Theresa from the get go.
He revealed his true self when he was more excited talking about all the adventures he experienced and didn't even mention finding the "woman he couldn't live without" which weren't his words but what Trista Sutter told him to look for.

Thank you for the tough questions, Katie. Anybody notice how he squirmed and deflected from the girlfriend question. Didn’t answer it at all didn’t address the X at all. You don’t deflect from the truth Gary. And there’s little Teresa just sitting there looking up lovingly at her fiancé. I could gag.

Did you notice Theresa's eyes expression and hear her Hmm when Gerry said he got to do things and go on dates he could Never afford on his own. I've suspected since she revealed her career success that he'd be attracted to her financial security. Not only women are concerned about finances as we get into those years. Why truthfully is there a rush to marriage? And why is marriage necessary at all. They're in their 70s and why mess with their kids' and grandkids' inheritance. I don't wear rose colored glasses like I used to. You don't have to marry to live together, go on adventures and have a good life together. Hopefully they'd keep their assets separate and legally well protected. My dad and stepmom made sure the other would Not benefit from the other's death and each set of kids would be the only beneficiaries. Just because he has that lakehouse doesn't mean he's financially sound. Anyway, it's their party. Not mine.

I liked it a lot. I couldn’t figure out how much was playing to the camera or the science and how much was real. I bet early on that Leslie was the one because I thought his eyes softened when he looked at her. After his visit with Teresa’s family he seemed to
lose interest. Right up until the last he was in love with Leslie. Something does not seen just right to me. Sorry all you romantics, he had to propose on the show, that was the deal but he does not have to get married after knowing someone a couple weeks. Theresa , give yourself some time when the cameras are off.

And she tells everyone on live tv she knocked his boots off in the fantasy suite, bragging she had sex with with Garry. I don't think she was so shy and worried and she claimed. Sorry but for me she always came on too strongly.

I think it was telling at the end when he was giving his dating "advice": "Be confident, feel like you have worth". I think that's exactly why he didn't pick Leslie. The way she was portrayed, at least, was that she's very insecure and feels like she's never the one who's chosen....plus everyone cheats on her. I really don't think I'd be sharing all that. I am so glad he picked Theresa. I have to say she was not my first choice but as the show went on I got to see that she was genuinely nice. Gary did a good job picking her. They look great together and so happy. I really hope it all works out and they live happily ever after. I can't wait to see what the future brings for them. Good luck Gary and Theresa. On another note, I've always loved watching Katie Couric. She does ask the best questions!

@@sleepyandhollow. I hate to be a wet blanket but the attraction he had for Leslie was apparent early. He seemed to lose interest in Teresa right after the family visits. He was so definite in his love for Leslie until the last day. Not very stable for a grown man. Time will tell.
As he stated during their time together is when he started to see that Theresa was the person he couldn't live without vs Leslie. Heck Leslie had a lot of past baggage and even said to him that he had to show her how to have a lifetime relationship. At 72 and she at 66 or so who has time for that. I wonder if she'd be interested in being the first Golden Bachelorette.

He is a sociopath in my opinion. He completely skirted the question about the relationship with the woman for a couple of years; he excuses how he led on and misled Leslie and Faith with utter b.s. about compartmentalizing. Didn't he know that telling Faith he was in love with her in front of her family would give her the impression that he was going to pick her? And didn't he know that telling Leslie he thinks she is the one he can't live without and that he loved her that that would give her the impression that she was the one? He is full of it. Deceptive, narcissistic and a liar. Good for Leslie for calling it like it is, but she didn't come down hard enough on him. It's the bachelor show it's not the torture show.

From the moment I watched these two on their first date, I felt that Theresa was the one for Gerry. I was rooting for them the whole time. So happy he chose her. She is gracious, intelligent, and serene. I think he felt serenity with her.

Well Leslie, you seem to have dodged a big bullet. As to Theresa, she wanted a handsome man, and Gerry wanted a meal Ticket. Let's say the golden Ticket has arrived! I saw the way his eyes lit up when Therese, told him about her career. Gerry, doesn't love either one of those ladies. He's too self absorbed, not to mention cruel, and a pathological liar. Now, how can Gerry, be this nice golden bachelor? I always knew he was putting on a facade,because he was so transparent. Anyway, I wouldn't trust him as far as I can throw him. I think he could have found love in his own community in Indiana, and Theresa too! Now they are moving away from the life they have known for so many years, leaving grandkids and family, and I find that really sad. I wish them nothing but happiness. I hope a show will develop where potential candidates looking for love "in their own towns" will develop from this....maybe call it Community Love!

Great interview! All the right questions everyone wanted to know! Maybe not the answers we were all hoping for but in all honesty those answers were actually what we were all expecting! They are the perfect couple for each other. Theresa is infatuated with him and enjoys/ believes all his stories.

This couple is the epitome of joy for me they found each other and they’re happy but people want to criticize and just can’t leave them alone I thoroughly enjoyed the golden bachelor and my very very best wishes go out to Theresa and Gerry it is so lovely to see two older people fall in love with one another and plan on Having a life together what more could you ask this is so very special I love you both and look forward to seeing your very special wedding❤

Katie Couric is a long standing top pro for good reason. In my opinion, this interview with these two is very telling of each of them and not necessarily the case in their other appearances.

She’s a smart woman. When she found out about his lies, esp the “I haven’t dated in 6 years since my wife died”…when in fact he began a relationship one month after she died, and it lasted almost 2 years…I’ll bet Teresa is shook to her core. She’s marrying a liar who wants her $$$. So obvious.

I read an article that said the ring belongs to the show. They have to stay together for 2 years. If they break up before 2 years, they have to give the ring back to the show.

I'm not so sure she has a "lucrative" career. She's probably not broke but I don't know that she's wealthy. I don't think Gerry is poor either. The area he lives in is quite expensive.

All I know is watching that conversation on TV, he was more interested in Leslie until Teresa told him about her stocks and bonds career that she's so good at. His face lit up, his demeanor changed, in that instant. Suddenly he was all about Teresa.There's no doubting it if you watched the entire season.

"Give back to the community" by being a paid handyman? When you are lying it is best to say something like "I like working with my hands" - that at least doesn't sound like total BS. That people don't see through this just confirms my absolute certainty that most people are fools and don't want to know the truth.

I just had a complete turn around about Theresa. I like them both…yea, yea, he may have had a few missteps but geez he’s on live tv, age 72, and being swarmed by fabulous women. I can’t speak for the financial part, and actually none of us really can, but I’m assuming he’s not broke or they wouldn’t have cast him, and she’s smart enough to protect herself. They’re in their 70’s. If she pays for more, so what? People seem to accept it when the man has more $. I’m rooting for this to work.

You're right, and there's an article about it that came out a few days ago. I pray that her daughter sees it because her daughter is in her corner.
Once he found out about her career he shifted. He has turned me off of wanting to watch any future shows.
