Lamley Preview: Hot Wheels Team Transport 2023 Mix B & the fantastic new Chevy Truck Hauler

- Hot Wheels is about to drop the next batch of Team Transport, and while every set is is great, it's the new Chevy Hauler that has my attention.
The Rally Hauler has came out a third time already.
The first one was with the RS200 in a Ford Racing livery; the second one was matching colors with the MG Metro 6R4; and now matching colors with the Rover P6.
It’s been out for years
I didn’t think the rally hauler with the rover wasn’t coming out. I don’t remember seeing it leaked. This set as a whole is fantastic. I love all of them. Mattel made some great choices with truck and car combos in this case. That Alfa fits with the fleet flyer.
Love seeing the Rover again. This whole batch is stunning.
I like the fact that HW is doing some unusual castings like the Rover for these sets. Couple I'd love to see is a 1st gen Subaru Legacy turbo, especially as a wagon, and a Dolomite Sprint in some sort of race livery.
...Even better might be Travis Pastrana's 'Family Huckster'?
As a british collector I'm super hyped for that Rover, everything about the set feels so right, like it was lifted straight from a 70s BTCC race
C10 ramp truck for the "stolen out of its packaging win".
I am not a truck guy, but that C10 is extremely well done and a very welcome addition to the Team Transports line. And now i do want to see it paired with a Porsche 911 :)
You can pair it with the thrill climbers 934.5. Vasek Polak used to transport his 934/935s and BMW CSLs in a C10 transporter similar to that.
Love them all! Looking forward to the ramp truck the most.
Would enjoy a Chapparal set updated.

I'm glad that Rover is comming, first from boulevard version wasn't available in bulk in my country. Only one item is available and seller want 30$ for it... In RS200 trailer wheel arches was wider than in MG Metro and Rover P6 trailer version

I hate to be that guy but this is the 3rd time. The Rally Hauler came out with the MG Metro 6R4.
The Rover is a real race car that still exists. It is all blue with a white(silver??) roof and the number 21. The hood bulge was to give room for the 4 Weber 481DA carburetors sitting on the modified Rover V-8.
Yeah, the Rover P6 is definitely an underrated model
Maybe in the USA, here in Germany/Europe its Impossible to get it for a fair price, mostly they are sold for 40€ - 50€.
Gonna be the peg warmer of this mix

I've pretty much sworn off Team Transport, but I'm going to have to get the Impala with the Chevy truck.

That's what I was about to comment. Somebody didn't get the memo! Would have been nice to see a car closer to the age of the hauler or vice versa. A NASCAR team wouldn't have a brand new 72 hauler and still running an 11 year old car! They'd have a new race car and an old hauler!

I love the van sets. They’re perfect for customizing. They come with 3 sets of premium wheels for less than 3 premium cars
The P6 livery is a homage to the old Unipart colour scheme. More usually seen on TR7/8 and Jaguar Coupes.
I think the van is pretty generic as Rover didnt have many light commercials in thier range.
The Hauler reminds me of a Bedford CF, very short bonnet, square body.
I love all three set's, so it's three purchases for myself. Definitely!!!!!
I love the Chevy ramp truck, to answer your question about what car would look best, I think it's another truck. A nice fresh lowered 83 Squarebody with some kinda Team Chevy tampos would be fitting,I think?!

Yep. Alfa livery is Tarquini's car from British Touring Cars. Can't wait for it!
I believe that Alfa livery is based on the BTCC racer, but the other Red one (number 8) was a DTM livery.
I’ll be hunting for that.
The Chev one does nothing for me. And if I see the Rover I’d grab it, although as you found out there, the trailer doesn’t fit well to the hauler.

Some ramp truck beds where home made. A company called Hodges custom haulers has built ramp trucks since the 60's they have several models to choose from to fit your needs
That Chevy Is AWESOME! Have not seen anything like that since maybe 2011 Vintage Racing...

The impala and c10 is a must have for me, the most realistic I have seen in a while. The size of the front tires is odd thou, looks like they used rear drag tires all the way around.

3rd time we've seen that rally van. Late last year there was also the set with the Metro 6R4

Very mixed feelings regarding the Rover P6 combo. Personally, I think the Rover is great but Mattel should have paired it with the Ford Transit (since those were the transports of choice for so many teams back in the day). Had they done that I think it would be an awesome set, as it is it’s a bit Meh! The real winner of the trio are the Chevy’s.
TBH if i would see one of these Rovers on the Peg it wouldn´t stay there. Sadly they are not often to be found in German stores. BTW i have no problem that the van doesn´t have any brand name on it. It could be from a private team and the van is also used in everyday by the owner.

The van with trailer set was released at least twice before in Team Transport IIRC, a red/yellow Rally Hauler with a MG Metro 6R4 and a white Rally Van with a Ford RS200

I love that Chevy hauler!!! I agree, a premium line Silverado or other Chevy truck would look great on the ramp truck. This truck has recently come out as a 1/25 scale model kit, it's been quite popular in the model club in Houston, Texas.
I also like the set from the last assortment with the drag boat. Yeah the boat is big, but many of them were....

The Chevy ramp truck hands down winner. Definitely put some Dragstrip demons on it
the hauler beds were custom built, some home made some were manufactured by private companies but not Chevrolet
All 3 are amazing.
Honestly, despite the money grab shame of repetition in F&F, we really are spoiled collectors, HW alone rarely do less than 'knocking it out the park', then there's all the other brands, what a time to be alive

Winner for me is the Impala/ Chevy truck set, because licensed hauler in right size, most realistic. 😎
Rover set is cool too, only wish that van is licensed too.
Alfa 155 is cool, but don't like that hauler at all, not right size and don't like when those bigger trucks use same wheels as cars 🤔

0:22 that's the only one I'll be looking for. 10:50 If I go after any-other set it'll be that one with the Chevrolet Ramp Truck. Though those wheels/rims will have to be swapped out for GreenLight Dually sets. ~'69 Chevrolet Corvette of the GT series would look great on that Ramp-Truck.
I'm not a TT collector, but i would grab that Porsche and skip all others :))

9:01 nope. Was a New Model in 2012, and metal base created in 2013 for Cool Classics

I want to like the rover so bad but i just dont. The scale feels strange but i absolutely love the rally transporter. I was very excited for the geo. I love that car and ended up liking the unlicensed van better lol
The smaller front wheel ruins the Rover for me. Somehow it looked good in the earlier red version though.

I wonder if the track in the art for the impala is las vegas motor speedway, that or Fontana, neither really make sense as nascar didn’t race at those tracks in the 60s but I guess the mountains make for better art
Do you think Hot Wheels should make the Fleetwood RV Mobile Lab with the two Mercedes from Jurassic Park: The Lost World in the Hot Wheels Premium line? Matchbox did the Fleetwood Mobile Lab but, they only did the front part and it was tiny so it would fit on a 1/64 scale blister card. I think this would be a tremendous set since Mattel has the rights to make Jurassic Park vehicles. Again what do you think?
