Caitlin pulling out a whole cantelope out of her backpack is the most vegan thing I've seen in a while.
Hahah
Vegans in a forest camping playing a weird bowl thing! Super hippie and I love it 😂
That mushroom on the ground isn't Chaga... it's a shelf or bract. They grow on the sides of trees, this one must have fallen or was pulled off a nearby tree...it usually means the tree has an infection of some sort. And they definitely are not safe to eat. My Nana used to dry them and paint scenes on them when I was a kid.
Kimberly Henry I was gonna comment this, but I've always referred to them as "fungal conks". It's not necessarily because of an infection, it could also just be that the tree is dead/dying.
@@wildoatling I've only ever seen them on dead or dying trees, and my friend who works in forestry said that they're caused by an infection that eventually causes the tree to die. I don't know if they would continue to grow after the tree dies or not. I didn't ask my friend when I asked what they were called. 😊
i really appreciate how authentic and well placed your sponsorships are! i’m so happy to support you and love that you can support yourself through opportunities on this platform that actually make sense and are awesome companies 🥰🙌🏼
dancer333 I agree! Wholeheartedly!
would you ever consider talking about your spiritual journey? if that’s too personal, i totally understand, but would love to hear your experience ✨
Where did you get your mugs? So freaking cute!
I think you can find the woman who makes them on Instagram: alexapland. They are pretty expensive though (but hand made and beautiful so it makes sense haha)
@@anoukertje and always sold out :(
@@anoukertje thank you!
My husband and I are also campers and hikers, well published nature and wildlife photographers. 😀 We took a camper van photography road trip around the Pacific North West last September and it was a trip of a lifetime. I adore Washington especially Mount Rainier, La Push/Rialto Beach, and Lake Crescent. The most beautiful state of all. Caitlin we would totally be besties. Great video. ❤️🌿
It was so relaxing to watch! And Lilly in the hammock stole my heart. You should definitely show more of those beautiful surroundings.
I love camping, hiking, and backpacking. Keep the “outdoor vegan” food ideas coming! 👍
This video is incredibly! The nature, food, and vlog style is amazing!
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE more camping videos in the future!!! I ❤️🏕⛺️🏔🌲🌞🌙
Awww, loved this, loved the hammock, loved you and Lily in the hammock! So sweet.
Ugh that first clip was the most satisfying/ calming thing ever
Love this video, love y’alls camping style ❤️👌🏼 the lil bow and arrow is so dope. You guys (Lily included) are so cute, definitely want more camping videos
What was that instrument?! [edit: NVM! Saw your other comment. It’s a rav drum for anyone wondering and seeing this comment first. So so cool]
Aww Lily in the hammock with you is the absolute cutest! All that food looked so good I'm gonna go eat now :) also thanks for inspiring me to start my own vegan youtube channel! ❤️
That "parkour" made me laugh. Great vid.
That looked like such a fun day and those falls were enchanting. What was that lovely instrument you two were playing and where can I get one? I love camping and camping videos and would love to see more of them. Have a great weekend, Caitlin and Dyan - and Lily too!
Ravyne Hawke thank you! It’s called a RAV drum 😊
Just love this video. Now I have to go bake up my potatoes and make a desert sweet potato. I've never thought of baking them cut in half, but have to try it. They look so scrumptious. You're a great lady, Caitlin, and I love all your food. Have to make the quinoa tabouli. Yum. Fun camping vid.
He's right, it looks like potato 😂😂
Roxxie Dymond agree!
Roxxie Dymond hahaha it does!
Liked this, nature walk was fabulous scenery and just something much different than your usual!
If those mugs aren't the most camping appropriate mugs I've ever seen... !!!! so cute hehe
Omg! Love this! I need to do more camping in my life. Please tell me where you got that handpan. Love it!
Lilly in the hammock, cutest thing! Yes, more camping vids please. x

Those mugs are so beautiful! I want them!
I made that zucchini salad from your blog and it was amazing!!!! Thank you!
I just visited Portland, Oregon for labor day weekend and I am so jealous that you get to go hiking in Oregon whenever you want. It was so beautiful over there! I can't wait to visit again :D
Same tent 🏕 Jenna Marble had for camping in her backyard with the dogs 🐕
i noticed that!!!
What tent is this
I love this video! It is so easy to eat healthy & plant based while camping :) Can't wait to go camping in the US! Ange from Australia xx
Lily sitting on your lap in the hammock is the cutest thing ever 😭
You guys do camping right! You brought all the goods with you: the tongue drum (if that’s what it is), your doggo, a big tent, bow & arrow, and lots of yummy snacks!!!
I'd love to see a what you eat backpacking if you ever do any of that. Love your videos though!
silan (date syrup) is so good, i put it on my pancakes, on my popcorns or in my cereals
It wasn't a camping trip but we were holidaying in Switzerland and doing a lot of walking and we discovered the joys of overnight oats - because it was no cook and though it benefits from refrigeration - sometimes we had no access to a fridge so for me a Mason jar, oatmeal and plant milk (weirdly in Switzerland finding latte di soia was hard so we had latte di riso (rice milk) and latte di mandorla (almond milk) for breakfast while away and it set us up well.
This was awesome. So green! Love it
Perfect timing! We are camping next weekend 🏕
Wow those beautiful mugs at the start!
PNW? New to your channel and loving it! Where in PNW? Summers here are the best! Don’t blame ya for getting your camping in before it gets wet, dark and scary!
If you live in Washington you should definitely check out the eatonville Falls. No place to camp but it's pretty cool
Me: "I really don't like all this tahini, it's too bit-"
Caitlin: "If you don't like tahini, it's probably because you had bad tahini that's all bitter and gross."
Me: "...touche."
I have had bad tahini. I thought I didn't like it as well for a long time. Very much agreed.
Same! Recently had good tahini !
That place with the waterfall is amazing!! Lucky ducks!🥝💕🙏🏻
Loved this and would love to see more of this style! 🏕🌲 Also, what breed is your dog!?!😍
Caitlin you are way too awesome!! Much love ❤
@4:23 artist mushroom! you can use something with a fine point to etch on it and the dark color will develop over time. Very cool.
Loved your camping video! I’ve been progressing toward being vegan for a few months. I do find camping meals a bit more challenging for some reason. When we go out it’s often for 1-3 weeks. I take as much fresh as possible but after the 1st week It becomes more difficult. Any pointers?
nice colourful mugs ☕ and awesome parkour 😂 annndd the drum wow niiicccee what is it called?
@4:36 I believe that's actually Ganoderma tsugae, or Hemlock Varnish Shelf, that's just fallen or been bumped off a hemlock tree or stump. It's very common to see the thick spore 'dust' layers on the top and bottoms of the species at this point in the season, as they're typically forming their fruiting bodies early in summer relative to other fungi.
P.S. the fungi on the ground kind of do look like potatoes!
How do you hike up to your camp spot with all that glass and heavy stuff? I’m new to this but that seems like a lot to bring and keep cool
Does anybody know what the is the instrument she was playing called??
What brand of tahini??? I bought raw bc i thought it was healthier but it is so chunky and chalky.
Which edible mushrooms can you pick in the US/pacific west? :)
Your arm/back looked so good when you were shooting the bow and arrow 😮
That red powdery conk is reishi!!! Super medicinal, immune boosting heart tonic
I MUST know where you got those mugs!
Where do you buy your tahini at?? I live in the pnw as well and have had the worst luck finding any in Washington! No even In Seattle :( thank you! Great video
Hey Caitlin, can you please make a video about soy-free high protein vegan meals? I'm soy intolerant, and I know that a lot of other IBS sufferers would be in the same boat, and it's so hard finding a collection of tasty vegan meals that have a non-soy protein source! Even just a video with your five favourite meals would be so so helpful! Thank you so much, you really are inspiring a lot of people to go vegan
Have you heard of Burmese Tofu? It is soy free tofu made from chickpea flour. You can make it at home, and it is high in protein due to the chickpeas! Google it for recipes :)
No I hadn’t heard of that, thank you so much! That sounds like such a good option, I’ll have to look into it :) thank you
@@camillel.4276 no problem! Glad it helped😊
Loved the video!
Your boyfriend sounds like Jason from “The Good Place”
The ending is hilarious haha
The PNW is incredible! We actually live in southern Oregon, those cups must be Alex Apland ?! Soo cute!
Where is your kitchen shade from?
MOREEE CAMPING PLEZZ!!!
I love that area, I grew up in Woodland, WA which is super close by :D
the first mushroom looked to be a common funnel variety. the second was a Ganoderma (a Reishi variety) They have been researched and shown to have medicinal benefits. They are hailed in Chinese medicine for immune boosting properties. Its not edible in the sense that u would just cook it and eat it.. u would dehydrate it, powder it and use it medicinally in teas or soups..
where did you get the mugs in the beginning of your video!!??!?
My boyfriend and I went hiking for 30 min and we came back angry and tired 😂😂😂 this looks beautiful though!
mikamer haaa sounds like me and my husband. Too funny
What is the name of that drum-like instrument? I’m thinking my teenage daughter would love one.
He is CORRECT! It looks just luke a potato!🥔🍄 I wanna camp again now! Looks like fun! Bless you Sister!2💕🙏🏻🥰
What combat pants is he wearing? Make? Thanks
Thats fancy camping!
What kind of tahini was that?
What does the dog get to eat? This is new to me. Also your dog is beautiful. What breed? Gorgeous
Hey FYI, backcountry just got lots of flack for suing lots of smaller companies that use the the word backcountry. You should look into it.
You guys are so cute together! ❤️
What is that food container at 7:35
What breed of dog is Lily Caitlin?
Is this 1 day/night camping????? I dont know how you can camp longer than a day with all those pre-made foods. Usually my partner and i just go to a local shops everyday and cook at campsite. Which is more fun.
Cool cups
OMG I'm a hiker and backpacker in the PacNW. I Love the video of the hike. Makes me feel like I'm on the trail. Second mushroom you showed looks like a false chanterelle. Definitely don't want to eat that!
What tent is that!?!
In high school before we knew parkour was a thing we called it "freestyle walking".
Hi Caitlin and Dylan We really enjoyed your little camping adventure you guys are so cute and have so much fun and yes Dylan's right it looks like a potato.
That looks like fun. Haven't been camping since I was in GS. Looked like a lovely place to camp. With all them Waterfalls. You guys are too cute. And yes that Mushroom looked like a Potato. Funny you was trying to do like Blaire Witch. lol, More Camping related video's would be cool.
Hearing you pour your sounds so nice. I have no idea why
wait did you use to live in florida? why did i not know you live in the pnw!
What kind of Tahini? I’ve only found gritty kinds.
Same! Mine is like this thick butter lol
If you have a Trader Joe’s near you try theirs! So creamy and delicious + super cheap!
@@lifewithkymm Was about to say, TJs is the BEST! At least the best that I've had but now I'm curious of Caitlin's brand 🤔...
The tahini is Soom!! Super good stuff
omg this is sooo epic!
I want to become vegan so bad but I always give up. What was your turning point and do you have any tips
Is that a silver fern on your shoulder?
in the description box its says 'dyan' instead of dylan lol :)
What instrument is that, it’s cool
From a distance yes
😂 same
Now i need sweet potatoes and banana and peanut butter stat!
What did Lilly eat? 😅💙🐕
All the camping videos all the time
Did your ancestors have access to bananas, peanut butter and sweet potatoes? Im Northern European mostly, and Im pretty sure my ancestors didnt have access to those foods. I did the Viome microbiome testing and bananas were one of my few foods that cause a certain type of bad bacteria to over grow causing inflammatory genes to be expressed. I already didnt eat bananas because Ive always felt sick and tired after eating them.
More camping! :)
My dog is named lily too 😊
