    I removed the Battleax's early after 4k miles for the TKC 70 and Rocks rear and what a huge difference. I felt the Bridgestones were very uncomfortable in corners and worthless on fire roads and mediocre on wet roads. I hated the Battleax tires because they simply did not feel safe when pushed past dry straight asphalt roads. The Continentals are the perfect tire for GS/GSA for an all purpose tire.

    Must have been a bit scary on the Bridgestones in the wet after all side or lean grip is what a bike tyre is all about. As for the price of 350 euros at least you are gaining the ability of not thinking of crashing every time you lean the bike over. Are the Bridgestones OEM or not.

    Nice angled tire shots. Were they slightly deflated?

    • @Biketrips
      @Biketrips  Před 2 měsíci

      Nop i used the regular pressure for road use, after some time offroad, deflating tires will not give you any real benefit on motorcycles, and you are risking bending the rim or tearing the tire if you go fast.

    May I ask how many K's you got out of the front and rear Tkc70/Rocks on your1250gs?

    • @Biketrips
      @Biketrips  Před 4 měsíci +1

      The front traveled 24.000km (not recommended) went all the way to Austria and back. The back tires changed after 7.000km

      @@Biketrips Thanks for your help. At the 7,000klm mark was the rear gone or still had some life in it?
      I have an 8,700klm trip planed later this year...2024
      I also had the Bridgestone A41's on my1200gs Rallye here in Australia and the front tried to kill me on every corner, it either understeered or oversteered through every curve without reason or notice and could change its mind mid corner.
      However it could have been my lack of experience, as I've only been riding for a mere 48 years.
      The front lasted only 1,700klm before it was down past the wear limiters. I got 11,000klm from the rear.
      Have a great day!

      @2dogsstottie it had life,depends on the use, for example my Karoo 4 rear, lasted only 3000km, good grip but I did drift it a lot on the mountain. The continental had still life after 7000km but I didn’t do much of extreme use. I changed it because I wanted to do a long summer trip and it wasn’t suitable for that use. Bridgestone is a brand I don’t trust, I tried them some times, now I wouldn’t fit them even for free. They have 0 grip in most conditions.

    why no Michelin Anakee adventure ( or wild) ?
    they are the best tire for the GS for the rides you make

      Didn't try them out. Now i have to change again, i already did 20k km with those tires.

  • @SimonBrisbane
    @SimonBrisbane Před 2 lety +2

    It’s not a 50/50 tyre. They are road tyres with mild off-road prowess.

    • @adammfharris
      @adammfharris Před 2 lety +1

      I used to think that as well, but a lot of people are giving the rocks rear tire a 50/50 rating after reviewing.
      I have not tried them myself, but I will make sure they are the next set I buy because to me they look like a 70/30, so I will have to feel for myself to see if they earned a 50/50 rating.

    • @Biketrips
      @Biketrips  Před rokem +2

      For all around, road, city, travel, and off-road, that tyre did 25.000km before i changed it, it went all the way to Austria and back.

    Αδερφε είμαι ανάμεσα σε στα tkc70 η τα ροκς αυτή την στιγμή στο δικό μου φοράω τα heidenaou k60 και λέω να πάω στα Κόντι να δοκιμάσω και ένα λάστιχο με λιγότερο θόρυβο και να βγάζει περισσότερα χλμ ποιο από τα δυο continental προτείνεις;;

    • @Biketrips
      @Biketrips  Před 2 lety

      Εγώ είχα τα rocks, τα tkc70 σίγουρα έχουν λιγότερο θόρυβο, αλλά χειρότερη επίδοση στο χώμα/λάσπη. Εγώ είχα βάλει τα rocks πολύ καλή επίδοση σε χώμα και στροφές σε πορεία κουνάει λίγο το πίσω όμως. Από χιλιόμετρα 10.000+ κρατάνε ακόμα.

    • @Biketrips
      @Biketrips  Před 2 lety

      Ανάλογα την χρήση και τον καιρό, αλλά εμένα στα 8000-10000χλμ έγινε κουτσουρο, πολύ σκληρό λάστιχο από την αρχή, ακόμα και στις λακκούβες έχω καταλάβει διαφορά από όταν το άλλαξα. Με το bridgestone πάντα γλίστραγε το μπροστά, μετά τα 10.000 φοβόμουν να το βάλω σε στροφή με μεγάλη κλίση, μετά τα 13.000 μόνο όρθιος, το κράτησα μέχρι τα 16.500 μόνο και μόνο για να περάσει το καλοκαίρι. Δεν θα το έβαζα ποτέ ξανά, και bridgestone γενικά δεν θα επέλεγα, metzerer η continental οι δικές μου επιλογές.
