  • I carried a Glock Gen 4 G29 for years as my woods sidearm in wolf and grizzly country and never felt undergunned. But when I decided to try a a Springfield Armory XDM 10mm 3.8" OSP Elite, I was blown away by how it surpassed the Glock in nearly every way!
Ergonomics, accuracy, capacity, and capability all exceed the Glock G29. The only area in which the Glock is better, is in aftermarket support. My G29 has an upgraded trigger, sights, barrel, and grip extension. But, the XDM has great factory sights, trigger, grip, and the factory barrel delivers amazing accuracy and chronograph numbers that beat that of the Glock.
So, it seems the Glock has better aftermarket support because it needs it. The XDM is good to go right out of the box.
This was my first attempt to ring steel at 100yds with the XDM and Holosun HE508T sight. The sight is dialed in for my hotter reloads, so no surprise that I had to aim a bit higher to compensate for the weak factory ammo.
If you are on the fence in deciding between the XDM or the Glock, then all I can say is that both are great, but the XDM is ready to go out of the box.
