- Toodee and Topdee Full Demo - an interesting puzzle platformer with an unique mechanic. One character is in 2D, one character is in 3D, you must control them both to complete these platforming levels.

Not sure if there is a demo for it but you gotta try death squared
not really a demo but there is a game really simular to this called just "Perspective" where is uses a 3D observer to control a 2D player.
There's a puzzle game called Super Blocky that never made it out of beta (so doesn't have a steam page, only download is through a discord server). A youtuber named Eric Van Wilderman did a playthrough a few years back if you want to check out what the mechanics are. The game had a ton of potential but it looks like the developer ran out of motivation.

Topdee is literally a God to toodee, he can't even physically understand his existence
I mean yeah, just moving blocks at will seems impossible to toodee, but is a normal thing for topdee
Well... I mean technically topdee isn't 3d, he's just in a different perspective. basically it's like if a person started flying.

@@notquiteaweebyet1054 How? It literally is just another 2D game, TOP-down view. It can't jump, the only depth is walls and pits. I would argue that is not enough to make a game 3D, or else basically any sokoban or really any top-down game would be considered 3D.

I don’t understand how saying “he only has a little depth” is helping your point. I never said he was the king of the 3rd dimension, I just said he has an entire dimension more than the other guy which is true and you yourself admit. But whatever go off I guess, I’m not in the mood to argue with someone who thinks that literally having walls doesn’t count as an extra dimension because “well you have walls but you can’t do a standing 5 meter highjump over them”

This would actually be such an interesting and mind-bending dimension to add in
You could make puzzles about going back through time using Timedee, which would presumably not change the location of Toodee or Topdee but will change the point of time in which everything is located. You could only move back into the past because that would erase all the stuff that happened in the future. You could make really interesting puzzles out of that idea

When the characters speak in the exposition scenes, it really reminds me of Katamari. And Tyler should definitely play Katamari for content.

Topdee arguably should have been named Tridee to make their name similar to their dimensions

Both of them are 2D, just one can walk in both axis but can't jump, while the other can walk in one axis and jump in the other.
I love it when developers get meta with their demos
This isn't really '2d and 3d'. It's sidescroller and top-down, it just uses a 3d effect to swap between two different types of 2d movement. Now, if 'Topdee' could platform too THEN it would arguably be 3d.
The concept reminds me of Super Paper Mario, though the puzzles are certainly different
This games freaking adorable and all the little animation tricks and the fun backrounds really make it fun to look at when your brain too small for any potential puzzles :)

I love this game concept, I'm excited to see how difficult the devs can make levels with this game mechanic.
Of all the semi-obscure flash games to get a full release this is one of the last I expected
I can't deny that is a smart way to plug the game. Having the boss come out and not fight you.
Both characters move in 2D, but on different perspectives, both move on the xz plane, but for toodee it's a side view so his y is topdee's z
This game reminds me quite a bit of a game called "Perspective". They seem to have a similar basis of perspective, and I think you should check it out! Seems like you would enjoy it.

Wow, this is definitely inspired by Celeste. The character even becomes thin when you fall fast.

Not a Demo but I just remember a really cool puzzle game: Crush from Sega (2007), it was a really cool puzzle game with also 2d and 3d mechanics but idk where you can play it besides a psp.
The story is that a being called aleph created worlds, made a semicolon to keep balance with toodoo to keep control of the “glitches,” and there is one more world to give life to, and the glitches would be solved, and toodoo thought he wouldn’t be needed, and stole the semicolon, so all the worlds merged.

Well, golems were brought to life by inscribing the word "emet" on them, so it'd make some sense within the universe of the game if it were hebrew

actually🤓 is a 2D game but it jas a platformer style and an rpg style, even if its not both 2D and 3D its still good and creative

Fun fact: you can get beetles for swapping the least amount 9f times, beating the level fast and not killing enemies (if there are any)

You should try out playing game jam games sometime. It’s really fun playing short very intuitive games. They are all pretty short but they are all so clever! A two day gmtk game jam is coming up if you want to try some of those.

I think I remember having like 3 speedrun records before on the first day when this game was released and I talked to the creator.
Honestly extrapolating the concept of this game into three and four dimensions instead of two and three kinda shows how utterly scary and powerful a four dimensional being would be. Very cool game though

As we already have 2D platforming and a top down perspective, it would be fun to have other modes and dudes as well, such as Tridee (3D) and Egodee (first person)

This game reminds me of ilomilo; they have a similar mechanic in which you switch between two characters to find a way to meet up with each other, and both games are very cute.
