- This bike was a corroded and rusted wreck that had been laid up and left rotting for decades in an old wet warehouse . A lot of work and learning curves went into saving it. It is now a solid running machine.
Wow!! You've made it look so straightforward! What a ridiculous amount of effort you've put in there, and such a learning curve.
You must be incredibly proud to ride that stunning outcome.... that little C200 never imagined itself out on the road again I bet! 😉
Well done!!!
Fantastic video. You and i mustve been the only two people on the planet doing the same resto on the same bike at the same time! I did away with the shonky slide throttle grip and installed a new style twist throttle and S90 switch gear. I also couldnt salvage the original engine so i replaced it with a new Lifan 125. The muffler and exhaust only just fit, i had to make my own set of foot pegs to clear the pipe and brake pedal. I also did away with the paper filter and installed a cone on the new carb freeing up room for the electrics to go inside the right hand side cover. I had my bike in boxes for about 14 years before i pulled my finger out. Goes like stink.
I have a 1965 Honda C200 that I have owned for twenty years now. May I ask where you were able to locate these various parts you replaced ? I would be willing to deal with substitute non oem parts if need be. Thank you.
Sorry, only just come across your post. The majority of new replacement parts came from David Silver but sometimes you have to wait for them to come in stock. I also bought some bits from CMSL but the carriage is expensive. Other parts were sourced by constant searching of ebay for good used items. I stripped and restored many existing parts to try to keep the bike as original as possible. I replaced many of the fasteners with stainless including all the JIS engine screws. I've not used it much yet. I think the carburation is weak atm plus I fitted cheap tyres at first which are rubbish. I need to buy some decent ones.
