Brando's self-parody is the best thing about this charming comedy. The concept and script are incredibly clever.

@@theoryofpersonality1420 Exactly! What a dumb idea. Nor will chopping off the credits at both ends. That's the latest thing they are trying. It's everywhere, but it accomplishes nothing. CZcams uses sophisticted software too find copyright infringements. It can hardly be fooled by such simplistic tricks.
That butchering of films really angers people who want to know who directed and acted in it! And in doing so they often cut off part of the story, totally wrecking the experience! The uploaders need to grow up, and not destroy the shows in the futile attempt to fool the system with such dumb methods.
Although some of the parts had no sound, this was a very decent comedy. Those that are fans of the Marx Brothers will notice that there's a Tip Of The Hat to A Night At The Opera, since Matthew Broderick's name on the Passport is the name of The Villain Tenor, Signore Rodolfo Laspari, in that Marx Brothers movie, as Allen Jones' rival.
Can’t believe how many negative comments. The film itself is a decent watch.

What a great "fish out of water" movie
One of my favorite comedies; very underrated....
Even though I lived through this movie’s timeline, if I was sent back in time to it... I’d be freaking out.
This is a very decent movie. I'd been watching it last night, but, it was late. I'm glad that they'd put it up today, so I could see the rest of it.
The movie's name Freshman was prefect theme. The movie plot was interesting too. I enjoyed watching and ending of movie wss perfect too. Great Actors.

One Favorite movie
Bruno Kirby was in Godfather, I think (RIP, died way too young). Good thing they didn’t have Sophia Coppola in this thing, though her acting in G3 was comical (as in comically bad). Who would turn down Penelope Ann Miller?!

I always thought THESE were the films that serious young actors would demand to make: "Find me a film with classic actors where I might just tag along... any small role just so I can say, in decades to come, I was in a film with ____ and ___, ___ and ___." This wasn't a favorite of my time when I first saw it, but I preferred watch Broderick here than letting him get muddy from Godzilla tracks, or running around an empty MSG. The place... not the recipe ingredient... although it looks like he could use a LOT of that, too.

There’s nothing remotely “English about this film. Simply more US American crap. It was entirely unwatchable. I could only bear it for a minute or two. Honest advertising clearly isn’t a thing in the dysfunctional U.S.
"English" indicates the language spoken in the film.
I can only assume that you can't watch a football game if the receiving team doesn't run the opening kickoff back for a touchdown. Let the plot build. Let the characters develop. If you enjoy movies, this one will entertain you.
