Taylor’s grandma, Marjorie, died when she was 13, not long before her career took off. With her grandmother being a singer and performer herself, I’m sure it keeps Marjorie on her mind all the more, wondering what she’d think or what advice she’d have (with her opera experience, I imagine she would appreciate the theatrics that go into Taylor’s tours and the stamina she has built up for them). I think it’s beautiful that Marjorie’s voice is still singing not just to Taylor, but to sold-out stadiums around the world via this song, and that Taylor still feels and cherishes their connection. I’d like to think she is still listening to her now ❤
I'll keep this in mind when I react to the official video, Thank You 🙏🏽
@@JaiBNJai You’re very welcome! I have several friends in the opera world (despite most - if not all - of us not being who you might think of as ‘opera people’), so I have some idea of what the opera singers that I know, at least, appreciate about Taylor, and would like to think I have some idea of the work ethic and skills Marjorie must have had…traits she probably passed down to Taylor along with her closet of back-logged dreams…and things I’m sure she would be proud of her granddaughter for. It’s already a touching song, but that context makes it hit deeper for me, I think, especially when Marjorie’s voice starts to play.
The background "sound" when she says, "I'd think you were singing to me now" and at the end.... Is her grandmother singing.
yeah her bridges always hit even if the song in general doesnt, great reaction tho and id love to see more taylor reactions. ( fun fact, when she said in the song "if i didnt know better id think you were singing to me now" you can hear her grandma singing in the background. you can also hear her at the end of the song)
Thank You! More Taylor reactions definitely coming soon!
It's always the bridge. She's the queen of bridges. That is when it always hits. Appreciate you giving it a try!
The official lyric video contributed to the emotions in the majority of the song. Showing pictures, media articles and videos of her grandmother and even some of them together including her teaching Taylor piano.
I can't listen to it without crying. My Uncle was mur*ered a year ago.
The, 'Every scrap of you would be taken from me' part absolutely destroys me.
I went to a concert on the Eras Tour, listening to this live was so beautiful and still so sad. I genuinely cried.
Her grandmother’s singing has been heard live by MILLIONS of people because of her and the thought of that is so amazing to me.
I don’t listen to Marjorie often, it always makes me bawl, my mom died when I was 2 and i have very similar thoughts but the voice I hear is my dads telling me about her.
I'm a swiftie and i appreciate you being honest with how you feel about this song. So many other reactors i feel just act like TS cant do any wrong to capitalize on her fanbase. Would love to see more TS reactions from you though, just keep in mind her real talent is songwriting so that's very important to her fanbase.
I couldn’t go through with this song the first time I heard it. It was too painful for me as I had just lost my best friend at the time, I still get emotional every time I hear it.
It is more emotional when you watch the lyric video as you will see her grandma and how she had influenced Taylor even as a toddler playing the piano. She was an opera singer and was beautiful in her own time. At the end of Marjorie, they added Marjorie's. Operatic voice
I’m so glad you gave it a chance. ❤ Her lyrics are just incredible.
We’re living parallel lives because I didn’t care for it either and started getting into it exactly when you did lol! Great reaction!
You’re stronger than me I cry like a baby omg. Her whole Evermore album is excellent, I’m sure your daughter is recommending it already so I won’t say anything else 😂
I hope you react to more Taylor Swift’s songs. She is an amazing songwriter. The Man the music video would be a good video to react to.
Oh definitely added to the list 😆
Fighting it, not willing...then suddenly...GODDAMMIT!....
Taylor dies that...
hey jaii! thanks for your honest reaction ❤ hoping that you react to taylor more, she has diff types of music 😅
More Taylor coming tmr!
I’m laughing at how you said let’s see if Taylor can get me emotional😭😭 ma’am don’t let your guard down with Taylor. I listened to this song a year after I lost my dad. I was just listening to the album then this song came up and I cried so much I stayed in bed the rest of the day
Taylors grandmother worked with my father at Boatmen’s Bank in St Louis. He did repossessions at night so I doubt they knew each other but it’s still neat
You should watch the music video which is all home videos of her with her grandmother. It's beautiful. This lyric video got a lot of the lyrics wrong
love this so much ❤
If you’re a mom looking to cry, listen to Ronan. 💔
You should watch the video with family pictures and videos with Margerie because that will get you crying
thank you for sharing your reaction!❤
I love this! I love the setup and the aura you’ve created good job on this 👏🏽
you are the coolest! i love this channel
We love some new swiftiessssss❤❤
I love this song ❤
I love your honesty, and I love your appraisal. What I would love for you to do is to review Taylor’s catalog. She has so much that I think you would really enjoy try it! It made a Swifty out of me at the age of 63.
Love this song 😢
I’m looking forward to seeing more of your Tswift reactions. As a swiftie, I’m often surprised by how many non-fans don’t realize that Taylor’s music ranges over several styles and genres (pop, country, folk, alt, indie, rock, and all possible hyphenated combinations of these). I also want to emphasize that her live performances and music videos are both fantastic. I would suggest that, ideally, you should plan on doing a combination of music video and live performance for each song where both exist.
If you are a fan of sad songs, then FYI “Ronan” is utterly iconic. (But I don’t suggest doing a live reaction unless you want to sob on camera.)

But I think you might appreciate some songs with higher energy. Here are some examples from her Reputation Stadium Tour that I highly recommend:
Reputation Stadium Tour movie: intro + "ready for it?"

Ready For It? (music video)

Taylor Swift - intro + look what you made me do # live reputation tourczcams.com/video/1WhDBaBWlnc/video.html
Look What You Made Me Do (official music video)

(So here is a good chance to try my “double-header” suggestion.)
Don't Blame Me - Taylor Swift • Reputation Tour czcams.com/video/seOJleBbf-U/video.html
If you are not a fan of these, then I’d suggest trying her 1989 album. (Again, her vibes often change radically from one album to another.)
You are not listening to the official video with footage of her grandmother, her mom, and Taylor. Also, the quality of sound is not good on this one. Always go to the artist channel.
Still new to this, Thank you for the feedback 🙏🏽 Should I react to the official lyric video?
@@JaiBNJaiyes please 🙏🏻
Yes, recommend the official video!
I love TS. But I'm not crazy about this song either. It does hit ya, though! ❤
lol. What bs.
Stay pressed!
Thats mean not necessary babe
