- It's been some time now since we heard about Rockstar & FiveM's partnership and as of recent we are starting to see some negative effects that are changing the FiveM experience FOREVER! Whether this was a huge upside or downfall for FiveM overall, here is what has happened so far and my overall thoughts on the situation... Enjoy 🔥

honestly it sucks especially for someone like me who just got a pc about 3 months ago i mainly played the rsm server so it was based around cars, car meets and drifting and i made a ton of great friends in my short time on it i definitely cherish those 3 months it was nothing like i ever experienced in my whole time of gaming and as you know fivem taking out real branded cars the player base on the server plummeted hopefully soon they’re could be something else like it

This has turned for the worse for FiveM, this has caused a MAJOR downfall in FiveM, Myself and a LOT of my friends will no longer play fivem due to not having a lot of things that can immerse you in RP, Yes RP isnt about the fancy nice custom cars, or the fancy clothing, but it definently helped us immerse our players and not make us all look the same

ive been away for 2 months, open up fivem to visit rsm again hoping to enjoy playing the server, the next thing i know is everyone said all mods are removed because of ToS... this sucks man... really really sucks, i mainly play fivem for custom irl cars, there was hundreds of them. i really really love all of them... i guess it all went to dust now huh....
bro i buy a pc for play that, i have 1 moth with my pc and de servers go down, the server I play had to be close in 10 days for that shit, that is really sad
Rockstar doesn’t want to be in competition with FiveM Modders. If they let FiveM dwindle and get better, harder it’ll be for them to bring innovation to GTA6. Why would people go out and buy a $100 game, when FiveM is just as good if not better than GTA6

people including those on fivem would still purchase gta 6 because of the updated physics, storyline, graphics, etc. gta is one of those games that are like a monopoly where people would buy regardless just because of the name. five m players only make such a small portion of those that actually play gta as well so a large part of their consumers would still purchase even if they are on five m. they might just play both. also gta’s fault for having their games release so spread apart so its up to the consumers to rejuvenate the game to keep playing it and which in turns brings in more money for gta with purchases of the same copy on pc opposed to console. five m has been carrying gta sales in the latter half its life and rockstar should be grateful for that but it looks like they are insecure about their ability to galvanize their consumers because of modders and are making decisions that will ultimately tarnish their momentum and popularity
Rockstar create a beautiful and enjoyable open world games. But you never want R* to take over your mods and servers because they 100% will ruin it.

I kissed goodbye to the impulse99 server the moment they removed all the original cars and now I bought Forza horizon 5
ong i just hop in there to test something then noticed all my cars are gone for good i was blown asf to find out they was all gone for good
I think there’s going to be a decrease of play in fivem because the only reason why people play fivem is the cloths the cars now there’s going to less people rockstar just messed up big time 😕

live service games aren't made to last forever, altrough nothing quite is what seperates live service titles from a non-live service game is that you can play a non-live service game after support for it has ended, while live service games you can't play it once the servers go down OR if it does have singleplayer functionality but locked behind some login-stuff, not without hacking the game to force it to launch without login stuff.
FiveM in this case, is while it is entirely community-hosted, the main server browser is hosted by Cfx devs themselves, so if for whatever reason, Rockstar wants Cfx to stop development on FiveM, they can make them shutdown the main servers so the only way to connect is trough direct connect even that might not be possible considering the FiveM app requires you to authenticate with Cfx servers (since you can't launch FiveM without internet connection lol) so if R* closes those too, well no more FiveM as even your local servers won't be accessible.
Luckily that will not happen because why buy it if you going to shut it down afterwards?

i have never ever played another server because it had all i needed, cars are gone but they are making a little effort buy making some in game cars more customizable but its not for me, fivem is dead to me now, not sure how others feel about it

I never had FiveM, maybe I never will after Rockstar acquisition, but the fact that you cannot have assets from *their* games just takes everything out of the loop, if they don't let you drive around LC I'm sure you can have a fleet of GTA 4 vehicles (most of them are forgotten as they didn't appear in V and will likely never return in VI besides that PMP-600's successor in the trailer), those are probably not technically considered "custom assets".

no lmao, no idea what this is about, the player count is lower because it’s been 4 years since the peak of FiveM during lockdown but aside from that the roleplay servers are just as big.

Rockstar don’t owe them money at all. The assets where illegal to start off with surprised they weren’t sued would of happened eventually but still. And all the fees to have a server was made back by all the donors if they want to continue having a server it’s on them to keep paying its optional not mandatory.
Why does fivem still have a patreon donation requirement for features?
They don't. That is up to each server developer.
IMO it is all about GTA VI. They probably did the math and found out that it is cheaper to just buy a ready and tested "product" which is based (and runs) on their game instead of developing and field testing it themselves. And TBH they could have just changed some legal notes and trash FiveM through legal reasons like intelectual property and what not and not offer any money for it.
And FiveM users are people NOT playing the regualr GTAV so when you are Rockstar and you feel GTAV is getting low on player count you can always pull the plug on FiveM.... or they may find a way how to let both worlds run paralel to each other with one player account. Who knows. Only time will tell... or some leak :)

I have to stop playing because they now have complete control over it and are actively screwing it up. The reason people went to it was because it felt more "real" the feeling of actually getting a bmw or a corvette in game is that much more worth hoarding money in order to get that. I want to work to get the cars i want in a game, Ya know?
100% felt this, it was an experience we can never have on GTA online and now we're forced back to something close to that 🤦🏽♂️

i knew this was all going to be drama the moment rockstar took over from fivem, i mean isn't it bad enough that they don't allow you to mod on regular GTA 5 online so they further stick the knife in and ruin a whole community built from the ground up over a number of years, top fella rockstar you've completely and utterly plague your self with hatred from a whole community pretty much and for the most part hindered your financal gain, because not everyone is going to be able to afford a console version of your game nor want to drive round in a beat up fake looking vauxhall corsa, [asbo]. i for one build 3d models for gta, real cars not fake crap and unless they are 100% accurately replicating the model there is no law suit, that 99% counts (adding a extra panel line or detail to the grill or car in general), the vehicle isn't accurately identical, instead it closely reasembles its real life counter part avoiding any grounds for lawsuit so my server will remain and so will my vehicles for now as i stand by this statement, however this whole situation is generally, tipically rockstar all over and many people like me could see it coming, RIP FiveM RP community you was fantastic bright and immersive while you lasted hopefully you'll rise again in some other form.

I think it’s good rock star bought fivem bcoz there we have not faced outage issue after the takeover of fivem.
Lots of people here really don’t understand how business works at all. If they kept the assets (which where illegal to have) they would of had various problems threatening Fivem to fully shut, Big Fines and more. I find it surprising how mad people are but no one literally owned the rights to use any of those assets. Majority of the people who made the assets aren’t rightful owners themselves since they are copying assets that are already claimed/exist by big brands.

They ripped the fivem Community in two without any custom cars or clothing what is there to do? i remember before fivem used to have hundreds of servers with over 120 players and waiting time to Get in to the server whitch made it exciting to Get in i remember when grizzley world rp had all day always 140 players or more now it has 30 players at day time and because most of the best rp servers didnt take away the custom stuff they got banned. Fivem will never be the same again and fun
