Which catalyst is being used?

There's no use of a catalyst in the distillation of crude oil. But yes after the distillation of crude oil, the different products are processed through various unit processes such as hydrocracking, reforming, isomerization, cracking, etc which make use of catalysts such as nickel, zeolites, acids, and other.

As oil is being fed into the CDU, the first thing that happens is the crude is heated to a temperature between 215 and 280°F (100 -137°C)
