      I didn't think a train was coming at all, because I couldn't see any railroad tracks crossing that little country road. Also, it looked like there was a huge bush or a mound of dirt on the left-hand side of the screen, so I didn't think any train could get through, but it did.
      By the way, was that a mailbox on the right-hand side of the screen?

    Wow!!! That was incredibly weird! I've always thought Japanese crossing grades were interesting,but this has a surreal calming effect- if not hypnotic. Thanks for posting

    That rail line is in terrible condition...I'm amazed they're able to even *try* to run trains on it. The beautiful old crossing makes up for it though... :) Greetings from America.

      The maximum speed at this track has recently been reduced from about 70-80 kmh to 50-60 kmh

      @@SAjustusSA yes, I think it does! And it's not the only one!
      It's an old warning system that's been gradually replaced by the LED/TFT signal. But I bet they're still there because that crossroad is in the middle of nowhere, just stone walls and olive trees.

    Crossing device design and no horn blowing reflects a different kind of society.
    Opposite windmill inoperative maybe lights too but a great little escape waiting for the train out in the country somewhere.

    Someone needs to work on those bells and the light the other side the Bell is not working and the Bell on this side had trouble starting up and the light doesn't work obviously this Crossing isn't maintained very well.

    Why is the track so overgrown and difficult to see?
    Trains where I am in the uk maybe shit, but at least they come round and spray weed killer to keep tracks clear, put fences up around railway lines and make the railway look better then this. Just looks like someone laid some tracks in a field randomly.

    Italy really needs to up its railroad crossing game. The one warning light is out, the bell doesn't sound urgent at all...why does it have an overgrown fidget spinner? Plus the whole thing looks like it was last maintained in 1973. Who takes this warning system seriously?!

    The crossing has a particular design which is very cool, but it has got a big delay. I mean since the barriers get down until the train passes it took more than one minute! That aspect should be improved

    Again, too long a wait for the train comes, after the signal starts working. Cut time in half. On this signal, the windmill on the other side did not spin. And I could not see the light glow on this side.

      Benedikt Lothschütz in Italian Language it's called a Girondola. If the crossing is about to close it's going to spin to warn people there is coming a train, nowadays we have the red lamp which warns the people. Only thing is, it has to work properly to warn people...

      Ik gok ernstig gebrek aan onderhoud. De maximum snelheid op deze spoorlijn is een tijdje geleden nog verlaagd. Die maatregel zal vast niet voor niets zijn geweest :p

      Spinning, it takes your attention. Early there where no lights. Only a sinner with reflector stickers.
      In the dark, with your head lamps on. you can see from far that they are spinning, and so the bariers are closed.
      I found it a verry good sistem.
      Why Trenitalia has dismonted al those spinners in hole italy, i don’t now. Lucky you can find still these spinners on old railway’s
