Hanzel und Gretyl are an American Industrial Metal band formed by members Kaizer Von Loopy and Vas Kallas in February 1993. In the 1990s their sound was described as a genre-defying blend of sci-fi metal/electronic and experimental, but into the new millennium they adopted a decidedly heavier sound leaning more towards aggressive metal. Due to their heavy use of German lyrics, Germanic imagery and German-sounding pseudonyms, they are often mistaken for being a German band and are largely regarded as the only existing American Neue Deutsche Härte band of note, however both Kaizer Von Loopy and Vas Kallas are based in New York City to which they are native and neither of them is German or of German descent.

This band is utterly underrated, for several reasons:
1. They play industrial metal, which is unhip with the hipster crowd that largely controls the music media on the internet. Most album review channels/sites are hipsters talking nonsense.
2. Their Nazi image, which is a parody but which people with zero intelligence and no imagination interpret literally. The easily offended SJW brigade is unable to cope with these two and their humour.
3. A female Frontfrau that doesn't work on sex appeal. If she got her breasts out, they'd have more fans. (Yes, metal fans these days are all about superficial crap, they're like pop fans now.)
4. They use humour: a big no-no for the TRVE CVLT nerd brigade.
5. They get heavier with time rather than more commercial. Young metal fans prefer the commercial variety.

For a very unknown band they are #3 for me all-time. This band is no joke. Gives me every motivation I need in life.
