Back-to-Back seals on CR pumps from Grundfos - explained

Description: A Grundfos CR multistage, inline pump with Back-to-Back Seals is for applications that require handling the following: toxic, aggressive or flammable liquids, where no leakage to the atmosphere can be accepted; or abrasive or sticky liquids, which can either wear out, damage or block a mechanical shaft seal. A back-to-back seal describes two shaft seals mounted back-to-back to provide a higher level of safety and reliability.

A back-to-back double seal protects the people working in the vicinity of the pump and the surrounding environment. It is designed for operating pressures up to 25 bar and 120°C with the aim of minimising the risk of leakage from the pump to the environment.
