I lived in Cornwall, ON across the border. The last time I was in Maseena was 81 after grad from HS, went to Maseena ( Frias Tuck), What a place with visitors from Canada. I remember going there on Sundays to the Mall the carousel, Ponderosa, the locks, and most importantly the people, downtown shopping. Loved it and love Massena. Stay strong.
The good paying jobs in Massena require an advanced degree and most likely an in to the hiring practice. NO ONE gets a job at ALCOA, Arconic or NYPA without someone giving them a hand. It's who, not what you know.
luck for you, union teaching jobs in NY have a great pension. you will live like a queen when you retire. I can hear the compassion in your voice or is that the thankful ness in having a good paying job while other lose their livelihood. What do you tell your students, move from NY or stay and pay union dues to help fund your over paid retirement.
