    Thank you!! I love this pattern and tweekef it for kids to look like a yellow pencil. Black point, yellow body with front post hdc every x-number of stitches, (for the pencil ridges), and then a little silver/grey + dull pink for the eraser as the collar. It makes kids squeal!!❤

      @@CrochetwithClare I’m making one for my Mom now! She loves mine. I do the back loop style and it gets tricky to make it seamless when transitioning to the neck upper part but if I think about it a while it turns out.

    Hi. about 5yrs ago I made a similar scarf with chunky yarn, that very first one was for my daughter, she Q? Me y did I make it longer in the front? I said that idea came to bc regular scarf don't cover that area. After that I got request from her friends in college to make them some, both men n woman... it's a wonderful scarf to have.
    Gorgeous colours the one you just made, I thank your for all your tutorials keep them coming and stay warm 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🍯

      +Tricia Bricesting WOW great minds think alike, that was my thoughts, the cowl and scarf are good, but dont keep my chest warm, the shawls are good for that but can be bulky, so combined the two and we have the right combination !

    Would it be possible to make one of these just using a ball of variegated red heart super saver? I think they are about 141g from memory lol Or a ball of normal red heart super saver which is bigger? I got my friend to get me some yarn when he was in the states last year and I got him to get one of this and one of that so I don't have any duplicates to fall back on hehehe I have been looking for a worthy project and this is it because I have trouble with my face in a breeze or cold so the longer it is the better lol I would like to make a long one like the blue one in this video, but don't want to play yarn Chicken as you put it....you do make me chuckle and I love your videos xxx You taught me to crochet and I always like finding new videos of yours

      bobwilson123 I used Caron simply soft yarn ..but for a warmer scarf I doubled the yarn and used the J hook. The triangle is shorter and as I got closer to the 58 cm in width...the rows started curving. I think I’ll have to do this again and somehow line it since it is almost winter and I’m making this as a Christmas gift. I want this to be wearable for the cold weather.

    • @CrochetwithClare
      @CrochetwithClare  Před 6 lety

      Hello Felicia, great question !
      What this means is your tension is too tight, this can be fixed 1 of 2 ways
      1) Loosen off your tension when you hold the yarn
      2) The easier way is to use a bigger hook :) i would suggest a hook that is 2 or more sizes bigger

    Redheart Boutique has beautiful colours, but it's terrible if you have to rip what your making , all the little fibers catch on the stitch your making and it's very difficult to get them to come apart. Also the thick part comes apart and u end up with2!pieces, instead of 1!

      @CrochetwithClare  Před 8 lety +1

      +Genoveva A. Make the triangle bit until the top edge (the last row you crocheted) is wide wide enough to go around you head - then we join and crochet for as many rounds as we need or until yarn runs out. I had about 30 rounds for the neck/cowl section

    • @CrochetwithClare
      @CrochetwithClare  Před 7 lety

      Hello Sandy, I suggest, listening to what I say instead of actually watching what i do, this is an easy project and it may be less confusing if you are not watching what i do. after row 3, its just a increase in the first stitch and hdc across and hdc in the last and repeat that row - then join and hdc around until it is long enough - hope this gives you a better visual
      Maybe watch the tutorial first with out actually crocheting so that you get the idea in your head and when you re watch it it should make sense
      That is what I do when learning a new project, watch it first and then crochet it :)
