Its called instant torque. While your engine has to go through revs and gears it takes an ice a while to create power. Also each cylinder only makes power once out of 4 strokes

You can get full torque with any motor at every rpm. You probably can't get maximum torque at zero rpm with an electric bike. A steam powered bike certainly would though.

Sorry for the disturbing news but there's a whole crop of home-built e-bikes that are being constructed in the past few years that are seeing 0-60 times of under 3 seconds. There are FB groups for these, peeps are taking typical dirt bike frames and running motors at 25kw (about 33 hp) or even more. 33hp doesn't sound like a lot but in electric form the acceleration numbers smash typical ice engines putting out those hp figures.

I am an old school mechanic, 2 strokes, 4 strokes and rotary engines, id love to learn about electric bikes . I think theyre Incredible. That looks like a stripped back motorbike frame wirh the large battery replacing the engine. I especially need to know about whats inbetween the battery and the electric motor. Control modules of some sort. I was very sceptical about Ebikes etc but im intrigued about this way more than i ever was about petrol or diesel driven vehicles. Though very little can come close to the raw power and speed of something like a CBR600 or 1000cc bike. My CBR600 is good for nearly 160mph.
When you mentioned rotary engines. I immediately thought about the Mazda RX-7. I was watching videos about 6 years ago when Kawasaki came out with the H2 and H2R. Who would ever think that they would put a 320 horsepower engine in a sport bike? That is some scary power!

I used to live in a rural area about 4 miles from a small town,Zephyrhills,FL.Thr speed limit never went above 35 anywhere besides the bigger roads.As long as the vehicle can match the speed limit its fast enough.I would drive a 50cc moped all around town no problem.Its about plotting your routes to work with traffic and your flow as a driver.Looking at this video,I couldve definitely used the lo profile of a bike compared to a moped.Mostly the fact you can ride in the bike lane.Very efficient vehicle for a single,utilitarian person.
Max torque available from a standstill. It's an electric thing. My ebike that I built on a Stealth B. frame will out accelerate my motorcycle but only up to 25 or so. It's only 3000w.

Vw golf probably the best all round car ever made, nice space inside, nice boot space, good handling, decent torque if you get the 2.0tdi or a performance petrol like gti or golf r, they look nice too. Fairly reliable if looked after. I’m from the UK and VAG cars are my preference

I had a 100cc bike once. That had untouchable acceleration but a low top-speed. (I think the rear sprocket could've been a bit smaller to get the speed above Yamahas FZIE 50cc version). Loved that bike! The only thing faster than me when pulling away from any lights was another bike. 👍

There are several e motorcycles that will go faster than your ice bike. The e motorcycle show here is like an off road 150cc. Fast enough to start, but can't match top speeds of a golf.
The world can't even agree on what an e-bike actually is. At some point, it becomes a scooter, electric dirtbike, or electric motorcycle. But at this point, every state and country defines it differently. So when I hear someone say "my ebike is faster than your car", I always have them break down what it is they are actually driving. In my state of Alaska, if it has pedals, it's a bike.
Its crazy how people who dont use more than one seat still have cars when bikes are faster, no tickets, go around lights/traffic, no laws, cheaper, more reliable, more versitile, no insurance and no parking tickets

Dynalion (aka dyna bike) has a k8 stealthbomber that hits 60 stock , but we have a 2025 prototype of the k8 that does 120 mph and gets 75-80 mile range , and you can get it from "Freedom city bikes" , retail is 10k but we sell it at wholesale price for only 6500 , won't get it anywhere else and definitely not for that price
My cousin had a golf. It was absolutely terrifying to ride with him. We’re here in Fl near Orlando with one of the worst highways in the country and he’d be cutting off semi’s, lifted trucks, and speeding like a bat out of hell in that lil hatchback.
only issue i have with those is that id be using mine for commuting and they dont got finders meaning you find yourself on a sandy, mud or gravel or wet in general surface then youre gettin dirty or wet . i was about to pull the trigger on one but it didnt have any sort of fender or protection from that. its ideal for dirt biking bc obvious reasons. but use for commuting is eh. I live in DC. it rains almost every other day or every few days or off and on throughout days randomly.

These electric bikes need to be registered, pay Excise Duty and carry insurance. They also need to have a number plate and conform to vehicle laws. They are far too easy to tune and some kids are gonna get killed because of that!

I had a 100cc bike once. That had untouchable acceleration but a low top-speed. (I think the rear sprocket could've been a bit smaller to get the speed above Yamahas FZIE 50cc version).

I met a dude at a smoke shop that converts old choppers to electric, he said the most torque he put at the rear wheel was enough to make the bike unrideable because even the tiniest throttle push caused the whole thing to flip over the back wheel

There are several e motorcycles that will go faster than your ice bike. The e motorcycle show here is like an off road 150cc. Fast enough to start, but can't match top speeds of a golf.

The world can't even agree on what an e-bike actually is. At some point, it becomes a scooter, electric dirtbike, or electric motorcycle. But at this point, every state and country defines it differently. So when I hear someone say "my ebike is faster than your car", I always have them break down what it is they are actually driving. In my state of Alaska, if it has pedals, it's a bike.

only issue i have with those is that id be using mine for commuting and they dont got finders meaning you find yourself on a sandy, mud or gravel or wet in general surface then youre gettin dirty or wet . i was about to pull the trigger on one but it didnt have any sort of fender or protection from that. its ideal for dirt biking bc obvious reasons. but use for commuting is eh. I live in DC. it rains almost every other day or every few days or off and on throughout days randomly.
yeah they’re definitely sick but idk way too pricey imo plus u have to wait hrs for them to charge when u run low. i’d rather take that nearly 8k and get a brand new sport bike that goes way faster that’s just me tho
These electric bikes need to be registered, pay Excise Duty and carry insurance. They also need to have a number plate and conform to vehicle laws. They are far too easy to tune and some kids are gonna get killed because of that!
