- The first great snowfall of the season proved to be a beautiful winter wonderland for those lucky enough to stay indoors by the fire. But anyone driving up to the Tahoe area on Saturday faced treacherous driving conditions with multiple spinouts reported up in the Northern California mountains.

Skiing is lousy in a snowstorm. Is hard to see anything, especially the bumps.
Ya but it’s good the next day lol
I love lake Tahoe, it's snow in July ❤
It’s a sunny day
no thank you 🙏🏻 I’m staying home 🏡
A lot of us have 4x4 trucks with 3 mountain peak tires. Still need chains? Just wondering
Technically yes, you must have them in your possession or running all snow tires.
Peak tires or spikes are good for the mountains and lighter snows but for the slippery highways with continuous snow it's imperative to have chains.... Better be safe than sorry
Chains are still required in your possession even if you aren't required to put them in base on your vehicle and tires. Still...this doesn't mean you should be reckless and drive at excessive speed. I have a truck with AT tires and 3 peaks yet I drive slowly below the limit to ensure I'm not flying off anything. Too many over confident "4X4" drivers driving too fast too...their vehicle "may be" capable but it only takes but a sheet of ice and the excessive speed only leads to a chain of accidents because too many of them were dumb enough to tailgate. Northern California and Nevada are just idiots for the most part and yes I live in northern California.
You call THAT a lot of snow? Really? Thats like just a dusting compared to what I’ve experienced up there. Fear mongering much
They got 11" in the last 24 hours. How is that not alot of snow?
Lots of snow just for a day or two
It’s a lot of snow for people who aren’t from there because a lot of them aren’t from there .
Drive in the snow without chains.......Be a Man
I can't see how being miserable, risking your life, driving like an old lady for hours on end can be worth anything...been there done that....that ain't fun....no siree bob...
Yeah but when you're having a few beers and you're bored it's a lot of fun.
I live in west Texas and when I see this I think how crazy it is that you people still drive under these conditions?!?! O "it's a great time to going skiing" ass lol we'd shut texas down!! nobody's going to work in that sh*t 😅😅😅
what is so important that compels someone to drive into a blizzard at great risk ??
Work, home, health issues, needing to go get food or wood for a fire. Lots of reasons considering the snow came down overnight quickly
This basic (and relatively mild) storm was as easy as they come. Nothing near a blizzard.
watch forecasts and be prepared in advance ..@@celebrityrog
but enough to close road and cause many accidents ..@@FIGGY65
Because it's a lot of fun, especially when you are having a few beers and smoking a joint.
😂
treacherous, its called snowing
