I have just been given a nice set of Kato and Bachman N scale locos and passenger cars. However I dont have any track. What would you recommend for Kato track sets to buy? I like this one as it has the power pack and siding. What would you add to it? I dont yet know what I want to design, but I do want to run both an HO and N scale at the same time. I will have a fairly large area (20' by 10' L shape approx 2-4' deep). Thanks!

Does a Kato controller require using 100v (step down transformer) or just 110v (house current)

The Kato controllers purchased in your region should be made to use your local power. For example ours are all 240v for Australia.

I would like to point out that even though one may attach a certain number of Remote Control Switch Turn-out Units to the side of the powersupply/controller, only a finite number could be so employed as each RCST unit not only draws power but will also provide a certain level of resistance thereby lowering the amount of power available for the next unit on. Hearns and You as the representative of Hearns at least in this Video would be far better served, as would any prospective client taking what you say as truth, if you were to state for certain just exactly how many of those RCST units or indeed other attachments could be used before another power source would be required to power the layout. If you don't know then surely it's your job, your responsibility to find out as this product and others like it are likely being sold and/or endorsed by You/Hearns.... Otherwise a good video.
