Now THAT’S what I call a makeover! Outstanding! I loooove the white on the stone and especially that you distressed the paint so you can still see the stone roughness and texture. It all still looks natural. You were so smart to stain the wood first before applying ebony stain or it would have looked blotchy. I loooooove the ebony stain against the white. I will most definitely use the idea of a staple on the mantle to thread wire through to hold up garland. Much better than using a nail, like I have been using. You have earned the right to buy Christmas decor from a store since you have saved a small fortune making most of your decor throughout the year. Your fireplace wall is stunning and you should take a bow! Excellent job 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

This video was such an inspiration. I live in a very old house. . Part of it dates from the 1830's. I have 2 fireplaces in the original log portion of the house. I painted both of the old fireplaces a few years ago with latex interior paint. I chose a dark tan color which was a vast improvement over the old red brick. I know now that I can paint them again with Apple Barrel Paint. Thanks so much. Oh, I loved your decorations too.
I painted my sandstone fireplace white a couple of months ago. We have built-in bookshelves on both sides of the fireplace that I painted the same white color. We’re still working on the insert & hearth & hope to finish up this weekend . I love the overall look - what a difference it makes for only the cost of the paint!!

This looks fantastic!! Sometimes you need to spend a little to make it looks like a million bucks. You are right that “believe” sign is a little high but I love It and it fit perfect. The deer are adorable and look so good. Great job Katelyn.

Love the fireplace makeover! I redid my fireplace back in February and I love it now. I painted the stone gray, and the ugly orangish bookshelf on it white and my walls are a cream color. It looked so much better when I was done it didn’t even look like the same fireplace.

I love it. I painted the red brick in my previous house a taupe brown color and the mantle white. I was so in love with it. I had several people tell me not to do it and I'd regret it but it was beautiful and it went with the style of my house perfectly. I'm missing that house now, but it was too small and we needed more rooms 😔
