    This is the aquarium chiller that I mention in the video that I have: amzn.to/2mqU45Q This will cool your water to less than 40F. It does take some time with a full tub of water so just plan ahead.
    You'll also need a submersible water pump and this is a solid one: amzn.to/2mUzfO0
    And the 3rd thing you need is 1" flexible tubing to connect the chiller to the water pump. For some reason it's pricey on Amazon and I got it from pretty cheap from Home Depot.
    How to adapt to the cold in 2 weeks or less. Using the Wim Hof method / Wim Hof Breathing Technique along with a few hacks, you can cold adapt in 2 weeks or less.
    It's a very simple 3 step process.
    The first step is cold water face dunks. This sensitizes your trigeminal nerve to cold and sends a signal to your brain and this prepares your nervous system for the cold. Once you can keep your face submerged in ice water for as long as you can hold your breath you are ready for the next step.
    The second step is placing a large pack of ice on your torso. Do it over a t-shirt or compression shirt and once your skin starts to adapt you can do it directly on your skin. Start with 5 minutes and do this everyday until you can do it for an hour.
    The third step is full body submersion in cold water that is 55F or less. Outside is ideal but if you can't find a place then your tub will work.
    Do the Wim Hof breathing method before these exercises and you will adapt even faster.

    I realized that part of the reason I hate winter is that I hate having to bundle up so much. I’m trying to think of ways to avoid that. 😂😂😂

    My advice from month and a half of the experience, to the beginners, if you are completely inexperienced with cold showers please do not push yourself and don't shower with all the way cold water (what I mean by this is cold water which stings and is physically painfull to endure) Instead level out temperature and adapt your self to cold water through out month slowly! This will condition your bodey and when you finally go for all the way cold shower you can indure it and stay in it as much as you like. Now if you are some what experienced with cold showers but still shiver like a bunny wabbit after shower congratulations you are doing it completely wrong! Here's step by step guide: 1st of all it is mandatory that you do wim's breathwork right before shower (preferrebly shirt less) make sure you really get into it to the point where you can sense your veins tingling and feel light headed (if you can't achieve that anymore with wim's method there are plenty other breath works to activate dmt, just make sure you do wim's method before any other). 2nd step mentally prepare yourself, if you don't feel eager jumping into cold shower and you are forcing yourself into it, that means your body isn't conditioned and you will end up having negative effect from shower! You must excited to be jumping into cold, thought of it must be putting smile upon your face. 3rd step listen to your body and Maintain breathing which is the most comfortable (for me it is when I inhale fast hold it for second or two and slowly release it) maintain this type of breathing until you are done, in clothing and outside of bathroom. Here's an optional 4th step: stand in shower first before opening the water, face shower so cold water can hit your face and chest right away then start rotating, this may sound frightening to some but it's the best thing to do believe me.
    Make sure to follow these steps closely, I hope it helps! Best of luck and best of life! Take care.

      And this will make me feel less cold all the time? Is that what’s meant by “becoming cold adapted”? I’ll try anything. I’m cold all the time during winter and I hate it. I want to be one of those ppl wearing shorts outside in winter.

    Great pointers! I'm on my first week. I took the coldest shower today. I wish I could of measured the temperature at the hotel I stayed at. But it was cold enough to make some numbness on my body. The hardest part of my body to keep cold is the center of my back.

    • @NathanWalz
      @NathanWalz  Před 7 lety +8

      When you get cold water on your face that actually increases cold adaptation. You have your trigeminal nerve there and when that gets cold it sends a signal to your nervous system that helps sensitive your body to the cold. I'm sure there are other benefits to getting cold water on your body so I would do both

      Nathan Walz Great, I have a freezer, I’m having problems with leaks. I bought a portable Japanese style bathtub on Amazon for $80. It’s just made of rubber, but works fine. I covered the drain with flex tape and insulated it with the foil covered bubble wrap used to insulate hot water heaters. Only lost a degree or two overnight. If I don’t get my freezer sealed better, I may get the chiller and have a good or even better alternative. The bathtub is actually roomier. Thanks
